"Do you still believe this is Jehovah's chosen organization?"
Wow, what a bold question. Anyone claiming that their org alone is god's one chosen org better have a lot of evidence to back it up.
do today's elders ever meet with inactive members and pressure them to write a letter disassociating themselves from the congregation stating that, ''you no longer wish to a jehovah witness"?.
i was baptized at the young age of 16. after turning 18, i stopped attending meetings, field service, and all jehovah's witness activities.
i wanted to be with my high school friends, go to rock concerts, have a girlfriend, and live like a normal teen.

"We have a spiritual feast prepared for you brothers..." - said at the beginning of every convention.
"Serve where the need is great" - why even talk like that? What not say "serving where needed"?
was anyone else taught that dinosaurs even old t rex was a vegetarian ?
i remember as a kid my parents contradicting what school taught.
they reasoned that meat eating was not allowed before the flood.
Yes I was told they were all plant eaters. I was also told that they were created in order to flatten the earth and their dung as a natural fertilizer.
Because, you know, god cant flatten the earth himself nor make the ground fertile on his own. He needs giant lizards to walk around shitting everywhere to do it for him.
(One of Ken Ham's books below)
hi everyone, this is my first time here and only in the last 2 weeks have my eyes been opened.
still trying to take in all this new info.
anyways here is my very condensed story:.
First of all, welcome! And it's great that you've found a good decent man for you and your boys.
I developed a severe anxiety disorder. It wasn’t just being anxious all the time. It was severe panic attacks combined with Emetophobia (fear of vomiting or seeing vomit). Looking back now, it all made sense as Emetophobia is about fear of losing control. I was quite ill with this disease as it lead to anorexia. I was afraid to eat too much because I felt a full stomach could cause me to vomit.
THIS! /\ - I had exactly the same thing! I never realized until you said it was probably fear of losing control. The emetophobia vanished when I left the JWs.
You're the second person I've read about this week who's left. This is good news indeed.
just want to introduce myself and let you know that this site is working and is a big help to lots of jws with doubts.
i've been lurking for about a year, the first couple of times i was frightened and literally shaking visiting an apostate site but it's the only place i can come to for sanity.
the religion has become a nut house.
Welcome Supergirl!
Nut house is probably the best description I could have thought up too. Glad it's not just us "apostates" that see that. Spending time caring for someones sick grandfather is exactly something Jesus would do.
I look forward to hearing more from you.
i hear that a hall was burned down in washington state.
was shot at numerous times.
is the wbts that desperate to merge congo's and collect insurance money and now the land has no building on it the land can be sold with no demo expense.
As much as I despise the Watchtower society, I have no hatred for individual JWs. Burning down a KH does not make me happy, and I'm sure most of us would agree on that.
We were all like them once, sincerely believing in what they're doing/saying.
i came across this website when i was looking for some emotional/mental support lately as i was summoned by elders to explain someone’s report on me saying “i’m promoting homosexuality”.
i’m inactive, not attending meetings or associating with jw outside of my biological family for almost 2 years now.. yes i am gay (you can judge away) and yes it is in a direct contrast to the scriptures, no arguement about it.. i was brought up in a jw family.
my dad is a typical zealot, he literally talks or thinks about the bible 24/7.
If you’re inactive I wouldn’t bother turning up. They can take you turning up as you showing that you acknowledge their authority.
I wouldn’t give them that pleasure.
Maybe tell your parents you’re not a JW and therefore won’t be attending a JC? I don’t know if that’ll make a difference in how they treat you, some parents are lenient.
it was only about two months ago she was diagnosed with lung cancer and she was a non smoker .. she was never a jw and she never held it against me that i was for 33 years.. we had a good relationship even though we lived in different states about 2000 miles apart,.. tears are rolling down my cheeks as i type this .
r.i.p.
sylvia .
My condolences Smiddy.
it's my work's christmas parts this evening.
just getting myself ready for it and decided to wear a suit rather than casual shirt and pants.
it's funny because i've just noticed that i now only own one suit.
Ow, my head!...
had a great evening. The company had a tab with bar which you can guarantee we took advantage of. They say don’t mix your drinks yet I did precisely that.
Some of us will be facing a JC for some of the stuff that went down... oh no, wait... ah, yes I’m not in a cult so no one to answer to.
Life is good. (This hangover, not so much).

It's my work's Christmas parts this evening. Just getting myself ready for it and decided to wear a suit rather than casual shirt and pants. It's funny because I've just noticed that I now only own one suit. I used to have about 5. All cheap and worn about a thousand times each. Now I own only one suit and it's a damn nice one. I remember when I had a wardrobe and personality makeover (which I think we all do eventually when we leave the cult) and I ditched all of my suits. Months later I was invited to a child's christening by a friend (a christening! in a Catholic church!!) so I went out to buy a new suit. Seeing as this will only come out on special occasions I decided to buy a really good one.
I mean, it makes sense right?
So off I go to my work party looking dapper. I even have some cigars in by inside pocket which I'll share with anyone who fancies a step outside for a break from all the loud "worldly" music and "debauchery".
This could get messy guys. Wish me luck!
