  it seems that with the january study magazine it's been trimmed by by four pages.

  have any of you commented on this?.

  Magazines have so diminished that the latest instruction is that the magazine servant is gone, laid off, reassigned in the same manner as are the superfluous bethelites that have been told to hit the road.

  The magazines have been assigned to the literature brother who now does both.

  But not a problem, you see, as the books have so diminished as well. Between the books AND the rags, there’s barely enough work for one guy.

  Soon, there will be a GOING OUT OF BUSINESS sign in the window.

  Now on the clearance shelf, all 32 page booklets and 78 pages books prior to 1985.

  Half off all magazines! Literally... half off ... or more.

  watctower has posted a $40,000,000 bond following montana's upholding of the nunez v watchtower verdict of 2018. punitive damages have been upheld, and wt has purchased the bond from travelers insurance (35m+ interest)-montana sc will rule later this year on the appeal.. .

  I believe that Watchtower is moving more and more money into squirrels holes.

  What I mean is this.

  In the congo I attend, sparecely mind you, the constitution was recently rewritten to allow for large sums of money to go on deposit with the congo and earn a “profit”... new Canadian law last year.

  What this means is, if the cobe is an ultr orthodox burned in his soul trusted watchtower man, then the Society will put a bag full of loot in his charge, hidden away from lawsuits.

  This change was made in “selected congregations” according to the letter from Georgetown.

  Now, there will be a paper trail. But will the courts be smart enough to follow the bread crumbs.

  As I mentioned in the OP, some would think it's a rumour/hoax etc. I could post the recorded meeting, but that would out me. And I'm sure you don't want bad stuff to happen to me ;)

  Others have said that this is not new. Well, I say I have been "in" for a half century and counting and I have never heard what I was just hearing...

  I imagine that in the past, a few bro's gave a few beatin's but I'll bet the WTS got sued and the bro's got charged. It's ain't the 'twenty's anymore. Lawyers are big business.

  If elders can respond with violence at the KH, then why can't kids in school fight back? Why can't kids go to karate class? And if elders can fight back, why only with fists? Why not have a taser?

  Oh, and by the way, tasers were mentioned at 'da meetin'. Of course they are a no-no, as of right now anyway. But time will tell. Did not the Israelite's have swords? Were they not commanded to smite the infidels?

  And if the elders can fight back, then what of law enforcement? What of the bros in Russia? Can they put the beatin' on those nasty apostate Russians with the balaclavas?

  I know, I know. Some are going to say this is just made up or a rumour.

  Well, it ain't...

  The direction was quite specific but still opens pandora's box.

  Two elders will approach an "apostate" who is in the kingdumb hall. They are not to touch him physically, however, if the person strikes out first, then it's open season baby. Put the hurt on the boy.

  No more turning the cheek. The Watchtower has now adopted the strategy of war. They are no different than the military's of the world. They may defend themselves.

  Taken to the next level, all the witness to said beatin'... are, well.... witnesses, JW that is. And it really doesn't matter who struck first when all the witnesses will say it was apostate Joe who dunnit.

  If a tree falls in the forest, and only dubs are present, did it really make a sound? I guess we will have to wait to see what the GB says....

  i resigned from the jw's in my 20's over 30 years ago, i was immediately shunned by my entire family and it's remained that way with a few exceptions ever since.

  one of those exceptions was being contacted by a cousin a few years back and during that conversation i discovered that my mother had been and still was the prime mover in my complete and continuing shunning.

  i then used what contacts i had left to confirm it.

  I know why I would do in this situation. I would agree that my parents need help and then say that “our church will take up a collection for them” and that “our pastor wil come with me to Hospital to pray with him/her”

  Has it not been considered that there are all kinds of groups, and sub groups of those groups, and clinger onners...

  It is entirely possible that there are stupid JWs in Russia who don’t really understand how things work and who can have very stupid ideas.

  Perhaps individuals who are “weak”, still studying and whose understanding of JWdom was just ‘not there’.. perhaps they came from a military background...

  It is certainly possible that some ‘dull knife’ JW had access to some hardware and thinking he was protecting, created this new twist.

  What, JWs are brilliant??? And Russian JWs smarter still???

  EU Court Ruling Against WT on Data-Protection

  today's london times reports on the july ruling of the eu court that forces the organisation country to comply with data protection.. the action originated in finland but the ruling will affect every eu country.

  the cult tried unsuccessfully to argue that the notes taken by jws in the door-to-door work were personal and not accessed by the congregation.

  the court ruled that they are acting under the auspices of the congregation and therefore they must comply with data-protection laws.. keeping lists of do-not-calls also falls under this ruling.. why does the cult always feel that it is above the law?.

  In m early days of JWism, I studied with a young man who “made his stand” and when he first started in the FS, he referred to it as “canvassing”. Interesting, I thought.

  The work of JWs is indeed looked upon as a kind of canvassing. However, canvassing, or blanketing the area is not what is really going on. What is really going on is “targeting”.

  When politicians come around seeking your vote, they canvass. If they find you, then they ask for your vote. But whether they do or don’t find you, they move on.

  Canvas is a sheet and you lay it over top of something in a universal way. You cover...

  But what JWs are instrumental in doing is not that.

  JWs target.

  1) They write down your address, whether you are there or not. If you are there and you take literature, then a record is made and you have been targeted. Your anonymity is gone.

  2) If you are not there, then your address is recorded and you have been targeted for a return, to be later the subject of further targeting. (See 1)

  If you are home and answer and tell them to go to hell, they will only return to try again, as your address is listed on the broader target of the territory map. (See 1,2, then 1)
