Embellished assembly interviews/"experiences"
by ab.ortega inoh how wonderful those experiences at assemblies and "schools" are - not.
at times it seemed as if these "experiences" were scripted.
the speaker gets criteria in the outline regarding what the experience or interview has to be about.

Exactly why its hard to believe any of the experiences they publish in any of their articles. And the experiences where the angels direct witnesses to people about to commit suicide, it seems every religion has that exact same experience. Its all feel good bs. -

by Wild_Thing inwhich ones make you the maddest?
covering up of abuse, shunning, failed end of world predictions?.
my list is long and heavy, but the top 3 that set me off the most are:.

Resolutions at Kingdom Hall
by sieborg inanyhow i got to thinking today about my days in the borg and the resolutions that would intermittently be made in the announcements for co visit expenses, sending a donation to society www fund etc.
my point is that while i was in (almost thirty two years) i never once saw anyone put up their hand to vote against a resolution that the body of elders proposed.
on a couple of occasions i heard a few hushed murmurs but i never saw one person vote against.

I hate when they make resolutions. Everyone knows they are going to be passed regardless if anyone disagrees or not. I've never really seen anyone vote against a money resolution. I have seen some vote against changes in meeting times. -

Lurking JWs: Do people really need to know and use the word "Jehovah" or other language equivalents, to truly know God?
by Island Man inwatchtower puts forth the argument that you can't really know god unless you know and use the appellation "jehovah" or its equivalent in other languages.
is this really true?
i say it's not true and i will demonstrate to you why.. god's name is not a mere label that we have to use to communicate with him so that he knows we're talking to him.

The best part is they say his name is the most important in the universe and they openly admit that the name Jehovah isn't the most accurate. -

Another JW Literature Trolly Experience
by Athanasius inthis morning i stopped at dollar general to get a cheap container for waste paper.
it was 11:30 am and there were two jw literature trolleys parked near the store and manned by three jws, on old man in a rolling chair, a 30 something man, and 30 something woman.
as i walked by them i glanced at the their literature rack and proceeded into the store.. i was in the store for 20 minutes and made my purchase.

So I can see the spine cracking and the pages falling out of these new Bibles after a year or two of frequent use
No worries where i live, no one opens a bible anymore at meetings. With all the tablets no one needs them. The GB likes it that way :)

Wt "study" Participation, is it a "True Believer" Indication?-- or not?
by prologos inin our congregation, the elders rarely comment.
the majority rarely comment, 2 sisters, vehemently, and often comment.
since in their case, it can not possibly be" teaching in the congregation", is participation in the wt "study"in general an affirmation of faith?

Vidiot-I can actually sympathize.
I hated those "superfine" commenters who basically reread the entire f**king paragraph.
Ha, yea i was always annoyed at the super long commenters also, but it's worth it to see this elder squirm in his seat and make an announcement every week about it :)

Usually about every week or so a certain elder will make sure to remind everyone to limit their comments to 30 seconds or less. You can tell it is a pet peeve of his when someone goes over the 30 second mark. Its funny to watch him get so upset about it. -

Child Abuse In This Weeks Meeting Part
by thedepressedsoul ini was sitting at the meeting this week and the "apply yourself to the field ministry" part started.
it was the first part under, "the initial call".
they read from the "good news" brochure and ask a question on it.

I noticed this right away too and pointed it out to my gf. How crazy they continue to act so innocent. -

sorry of to hear of your loss. I don't think you need to be invited to the funeral though, you should just go. it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, you need your own closure on the matter. -

After all the memorial posts the other night i wanted to vomit. A guy from the hall posted a pic and then tagged this celebrity that is a witness (i think he is in sister sister) Anyways i looked at this celbrities Instagram and sure enough he has selfies from being in service, but other pics he has a goatee. If that was a regular, no name dub, he'd have been counseled.
