Hi there! I have to say that I love the traditional wedding clothes you have to wear. Sorry, but I really do! I bet you will look very handsome in them. You have amazing taste in clothes--very bold and daring. Prince's outfits were obviously custom made, so finding something similar will not be easy. It may be worth your time to visit an upscale bridal shop that can either tailor-make a wedding reception jacket and shirt for you or perhaps order one in a similar style. Try googling custom-designed dinner jacket. The traditional dinner jacket is today's modern day tuxedo. However, there are plenty of interpretations of this in the fashion world. Good luck, and congratulations on getting married!

While that may be true, it doesn't matter...D2D is irrelevant today...[fed up with stupid-ass reasoning]
Doc, I agree with you. If you read my second post on the topic you would've seen that. To be fair, here is what I said that you must have missed:
the preaching work wasn't the command that Christ gave to his followers. He expressed his command very clearly by saying "This is my command: love one another" in the book of John chapter 15.
FYI, I personally do not believe D2D is of any value no matter what. I was simply addressing the OP's comment that JWs are the only ones going D2D which 1) isn't true and 2) is irrelevant.
Anyway, carry on.

That's a great question Believer, do JWs really have the truth? I recommend you research information outside of the JWs to truly decide for yourself. You would not buy a car from an auto dealer unless you did all the research both good and bad. Why would you take the JWs info at face value in choosing a faith? I recommend a book called "Combatting Cult Mind Control" by Steven Hassan. He never was a JW, so not to worry he is not apostate. However, this book helps people identify what a cult is, and then you will have the tools you need to decide if the JWs stack up to all their own hype or if they really are a cult as millions of people claim.
There is a wealth of information that can help you gain a stronger grasp on JWs that you cannot find from them. Again, its kind of like shopping for a car in that no car dealership is going to tell you how bad their vehicles are, how many times they have been recalled, or how many people have died due to faulty vehicle manufacturing.
Also, it is easy to poo-poo others concerns over the JWs because JWs routinely train their members in the art of something called "overcoming objections" where common objections are dismissed with a common answer. While it can be an effective marketing tool, it does little to address real problems that people experience with the org. It's kind of like if you asked a car salesman about the recalls on the vehicle he is selling and instead of addressing the question honestly, he/she tells you their company is the only car company produced worldwide and with a certain saftey accolade.
In response to your reply to me about JWs being the only ones globally preaching, again you are mistaken. That would be the Catholics who are in more countries than you know. And, the preaching work wasn't the command that Christ gave to his followers. He expressed his command very clearly by saying "This is my command: Love one another" in the book of John Chapter 15. Read the whole chapter, not just one verse as the JWs do.
Finally, this will be my last response to you as I sense you are only on this website to stir the pot. All the best to you, and good luck in your search for real truth.

JWs are not the only "Christian" group that goes door-to-door. I have had mormons come to my door as well as two other people from nearby churches. All of the massive evangelical mega-churches send missionaries all over the world. So, if you feel that JWs are the only true Christians because they go door-to-door preaching, then you are sadly mistaken because they are not the only ones who do this.

Learn To Speak Like A Jehovah's Witness
by pale.emperor infor those who were never a jw, here's a fun guide to passing yourself as one:.
privilege [priv-lij] - a duty nobody would volunteer to do which is assigned to you without your say so.
such as cleaning the toilets, picking up other brats candy wrappers in the back row and being stuck on locking up duty for the 7th time in a row.. df'd [dee-eff'd] - disfellowshipped.

Fudging The Numbers JW Style
by pale.emperor ini know most of us have probably figured this out already, but remember the good old days where you could only count full hours in the ministry?.
then one of the gb get some "new light" from their ass and proclaim that they lovingly will allow people to report 30mins, then even 15mins of time.
this was, supposedly, so that the old and infirm could have a joy in the ministry and report what little they could do.

I used to beat myself up as a jw over things like rarely reaching the "national average" each month or not ever finding time to read the magazines I was trying to place.
Then I married an eldub in training and realized how loose-y goose-y he was with his field service reports. And this coming from an entire family of pionerds.

More bad news for the Organisation in Australia
by no-zombie init appears the the commonwealth government is bringing in a national compensation scheme for victims of institutional child sexual abuse with individuals able to claim up to $150,000 each.
it's clear that the australian government will not be able to fund this program without serious money from the offending churches.
so it's bad news for the organization today.. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-11-04/government-announces-redress-for-abuse-victims/7996092.

Hmm. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. As long is the org gets hit in the wallet (the only thing of slightly higher importance to the gb than their inflated sense of self) the stronger the incentive to revamp their policies.

Subliminal messages planted within WT pics have been around a long time. But, I do not think this is the case here.

Spirituality:
1) level of indoctrination, the more "spiritual" the more indoctrinated
2) measurement jws use to judge/rate submissiveness to the org or a potential apostate, usually detected through subtle conversation sprinkled with recently changed doctrine
Jehovahs blessing:
1) an undefined reward that supposedly comes to jws that suffer for the org--it's never really clear what jehovahs blessing really is, but if you give up your career, your home, your money, and your family to pioneer you apparently receive this
2) absolutely nothing
