i'm sure many others noted in yesterday's news feeds, that scientists deciphering the dna of the skeleton remains of a man thought to have died some 10,000 years ago in the south of england, have presented him as:.
as blue-eyed (now that's quite english) but as dark skinned.
and, that's not very english, to the horror of many.. (link: https://news.nationalgeographic.com/2018/02/ancient-face-cheddar-man-reconstructed-dna-spd/ ).
It would make sense that the earliest colonists of the higher latitudes would retain their darker skin pigmentation. The evidence collected so far shows that the rate of our expansion into new territory happened extremely quickly. Once there the new settlers then adapted to their new environment (colder climate and less sun light) and this led to the lighter skin tones giving advantage over darker ones in the main because of our ability now to produce enough vitamin d.
The blue eyes are interesting though. However if this was a recent descendant of the first settlers there would have been a lot of genetic variation in the population whilst the population attempted to fit in with its environment.
my question is this.
is it wrong for a jehovah's witness to allow an unmarried couple to live together under their roof?
same room, same bed, they are allowing full on cohabitation.
"no sinning in the house" - ILewis
Based on all you wrote and that last 'gem' you need to have a serious word with yourself. What on earth does that mean? Let me guess...you will want to reply with some biblical mumbo jumbo crap...
"and now I feel like this house has unclean spirits, the spirit of disobedience is in here" - ILewis
Is this some kind of joke?
You need to get your nose out of other people's business.
don't know if this is a global thing but i've just been told by a pimo member of my old congregation that a min servant has been given the task of destroying all old books/literature in the kh library prior to 1992.. could be the elders (or even one of them) on a mission to stamp out dissent as my ex-wife used the same reasoning to her elder dad that i used in my jc: rutherfords books containing failed predictions.. anyone else heared anything?.
the ms who's been given the task is a company man.
no hope of him keeping them or selling them on ebay.. they have some russell books in that library too.
Bobby...
I remember you writing:
"This is fairly easy stuff. Factual stuff to boot"
Read Annon's post above. You were right!
the falcon heavy is set to launch today.
if successful, it will become the most powerful rocket in use (twice as powerful as the delta heavy).. as it's the very first attempt, elon musk has said he thinks there's a 50/50 chance of it not blowing up.
so should be interesting.
Innovation is how technology progresses. Regardless of whether this venture works or not it is certainly true that this is getting people talking about going back into space. And if it becomes popular enough then governments will also start talking about it. So from that point of view yes this venture is worth the resources spent on it.
It's also good for us as a species. We have all our eggs in one basket at the moment and as of yet no way of making more baskets. One unlucky hit from space, Yellowstone going nova or any other of the many and varied geological ways of changing our environment and it is lights out for us all.
There are problems that need dealing with down here, that is true but maybe if we all stopped being so inward looking and started looking towards that next frontier we might all start to get along a little better. It will also slam another nail to the coffin of the Abraham religions...
just wondering what would happen if a brother saying a prayer in a meeting did it in the name of michael the archangel instead of closing the prayer with "jesus christ".
since jw's believe michael is jesus would he be counseled?
what if a brother used the name michael the archangel in their public talks instead of jesus?
Just imagine that a modern work of fiction had as many plot holes and contradictions amongst the main characters...
Would it go straight into the editor's bin?

Note of correction.
I misread a post from bobby above:
"But your parents and your parent’s siblings are of the same generation..."
Yes they are but their children are not.
Just out of interest, in the scripture that clearly alludes to the generation that will not pass away what was the Bible referring to?
A child who has yet to reproduce, a parent or a grandparent or a great grandparent?
Logically you would say those who were decoding the Bible. But maybe it was referring to the youngest generation. So if a child was 1 they would be over 100 now. There are a few people of that age range and contemporary with that time period left in the world but not many. I can understand why new light was needed in order to avoid another 1975 embarrassment but this overlapping generation crap just beggars belief.
It's almost like the GB don't care anymore. And it's not like they needed to rush to be 'inspired' because if the generation referred to was the youngest you could probably allow a few extra years after this supposed date of interest as that would remain in keeping with what the Bible states and with what this channel of god's truth has been selling this past century. A simple clarification of what may be inferred by generation would have bought them another decade or two.
But instead we have this carbuncle of a teaching that requires people like you bobby to twist meanings of words. And you lap it up!
As another poster often writes:
It's a cult.

No they aren't. There are 3 distinct generations there.
If you insist of redefining words then there is no point in a discussion with you, is there...

Lots of definitions there... You choose one.
And now compare...

This generation will not pass away.

Oh, and Bobby, saying something is a fact or is factual doesn't make it such.
However if you'd like to copy and paste some dictionary definitions of those two words we can make our own minds up, can't we...
