John's Two Witnesses...Who Are/Were They?
by Cold Steel indo the scripture writers at hq allow for any scriptural exegesis that recognizes the state of israel as fulfillment of ancient prophecy?
isaiah, for example, writes: .
and it shall come to pass in that day, that the lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from assyria, and from egypt, and from pathros, and from cush, and from elam, and from shinar, and from hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

Casting Out DEMONS
by Cold Steel inif someone believes they're being plagued with demons or they have problems with hauntings, things moving by themselves or hearing voices or footsteps, who they gonna call?
i know they take demons very seriously, so who in the congregation do they go to when they need to bring out the big guns?
do they try to handle it themselves or is this a job for the elders?

I concur that if these types of spirits can exist, then it must mean that God exists, else how can they be? ------Cold Steel
Persons having mystical experiences with psychotic features also report encounters with spirits – demonic forces and/or helping spirits:Once the person is cured, these encounters with demons or helping spirits stop. -

Jehovah uses the government to discipline his people
by StephaneLaliberte ini had a conversation with my dad concerning the legal cases the jws are loosing and how their policies are still lacking.
he answered that he has confidence that jehovah will give his people the wisdom and discernment necessary to make the changes.
i then explained that most of the improvements were made as a result of various court cases, including the australian commission.. my dad: well, than, jehovah uses the governments to discipline his people just like he did with the jews.

If it is God who is using the governments to discipline his people then has the WT acknowledged this?
Why is the WT resisting God's discipline then by not turning over their pedophile database, modifying their policies etc?
So God uses the Satan-backed governments to discipline his people then will turn around on these Satan-backed governments and destroy them at Armageddon?

They are not always just suffered by one person which could be disregarded as mental issues but if 2 or 3 in the room witness the same thing how is that possible?-------- moreconfusedthanever
There’s a name for that……”Folie à deux”. Google it.
Also Google: “Co-Occurring Disorders”, “Dual diagnosis”.

When the Bible is read properly, it is clear that all of the restoration prophecies written by Jeremiah, Ezekiel etc were written for an expected fulfillment during the time that the nation of Israel existed as a so-called theocracy. When these restoration prophecies went unfulfilled, instead of admitting this, Christianity has instead opted to project the fulfillment of these failed prophecies into the future, with every generation giving the failed restoration prophecies (starting with Daniel by the way) a contemporary reinterpretation.
The hallmark of a true prophecy is that it should not allow for a multitude of possible fulfillments in every generation, otherwise it is just a vague and ambiguous musing.

Was It Really Mental Illness or Was It The Demons?
by minimus inwe supposedly had more than a few “demonized” people in our congregation.
they would hear voices or feel internal punishment within their souls.
the answer was always—-these people were affected by the demons and they needed counseling!.

A person doesn't have to have full blown schizophrenia in order to hear voices, see visions etc. This can happen to "high-functioning" people as well.
The misfiring of the circuits in the brain that underlie language, hearing and speaking can cause some people to have transient hallucinations, and some people to have a more persistent, life-disrupting illness like schizophrenia:

Mental health practitioners have observed that in patients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia, often delusions exist that either exalt the status of the patient (eg, the patient is God's representative/messenger on earth) or denigrate the patient (eg, God or demons is sending messages to the patient specifying his/her sinfulness and need to be punished/purged/cleansed).
When people are raised on the Bible they learn that God or demons influence everything so they are inclined to believe that they are having a religious experience (good or bad) when these things are happening to them. But this belief could in fact be masking a person's mental health issues.
ALSO, deep, strong, intense meditation in an effort to draw close to God can in fact trigger psychosis - GOOGLE: "Meditation-induced psychosis".
