  I DA'd myself in 2006 to get away from my ex husband. I had planned on getting reinstated but after research and a few years to adjust to a normal life I never will go back.

  i was curious, how many jws end up getting caught up in pyramid scemes like amway.

  i was caught up in there online program quixstar for a little while several years ago.

  i noticed there are several similarities between amway and a cult..

  I know a lot of JWs qho fell for Noni Juice, MonaVie and some type of fat burning wonder pill (forget the name). Fortunately I only got sucked into the JWs and not any other business scheme.

  Your earliest doubt?

  this might be an unfair question for those who have been out of the organization for decades, but i'm wondering if any of you remember your earliest doubt -- maybe something odd that occurred to you as a kid (if you were a jw then).

  please try to limit to two doubts at the most :-).

  i think my first "doubt" was simply realizing that at the time of the flood, every animal that wasn't in the ark died (well, besides the fish, supposedly).

  I had been associated with the JWs for a few years due to my mother studying and getting baptized. I just went along with her for something to do. When I got out of college I moved to Denmark and started watching documentaries about the JWs and child molestation cases in Sweden and Denmark. For so long I heard how evil the Catholic priests were for abusing kids and sweeping it under the rug and meanwhile it was happening within the Jws.

  Some scriptural things I didn't quite understand as a JW were mentioned earlier - the concubine being raped to death, Bathsheba's baby dying to punish Kings David, and Eve believing a talking snake.

  I wish I had figured it out for good before getting baptized.

  Small Victories!

  my husband's cult personality has relaxed since he's been seeing me go out in service and underline my watchtower, so yesterday it felt right to nudge him just a little more.

  "you know, i normally love the watchtower articles but the one i'm studying for tomorrow is just crazy.

  i'm beginning to think that there's a narcissist somewhere in the writing department.

  Which of the 5 weekly meetings did you hate the most?

  it was always stressed that the five weekly meetings were like the fingers on your hand.

  each one was just as important as the next.

  which of the meetings were the most boring,bothersome and difficult to listen to?

  The TMS/Service meeting was the most boring and least attended meeting. The brothers droned on and the sisters' talks were verly saccharine and always ended on a positive note. It was also worse thatn the others because it started at 7pm and if you were lucky it ended at 9. We had a few brothers who couldn't manage time to save their lives and five minute talks turned into 20 minutes. Ugh.

  this is new to me,im a little nervous, its for me and than later for family, wifey does not like the idea because its not the elders,and she doesnt want the org to look bad.

  she more worried about them than our marriage ,im only doing this for us and my sanity,whats you guys thoughts?.

  If You Have Premium Cable Channels What Are Your Favorites?

  i used to have everything my cable offered in the area.

  hbo used to be my favorite but i have to say showtime is the best now.

  homeland and dexter alone are worth the price (especially if you can get a deal)..

  We've always had HBO. Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones are some of my favorite shows. I like Dexter, but I wouldn't watch anything else on Showtime so not worth the price.
