Don't have sexual fantasies! Today's watchtower...
by purrpurr inthe watchtower today says not to think of sex, or to have sexual fantasies.
i'm just wondering... how many people in the hall hearing this watchtower today would be having sexual fantasies?
sitting there thinking about sister hottie or brother hunky ?.

What would you like to have known about JWs before deciding whether to get baptised?
by slimboyfat inif you could go back in time and tell yourself one thing about jws would you do it?
and what would you choose to say to yourself?
do you think you could have convinced yourself not to get baptised if you chose the right thing to say?

Won't get fooled again .....
by The Rebel inhaving left the witnesses i hope i won't get " fooled again".
yet life outside the organisation seems one big advertistiment telling me how useless i am.
these advertisements tell me i am physically ugly, which can only be corrected by buying the advertisers " answer to my prayers" product.

1914.... current significance?
by NeverKnew init seems that when i ask witnesses questions about 1914, they really don't understand the relevance to their message today.
i am told that they preach about the coming kingdom and that they don't preach a message of 1914. if a person doesn't understand 1914 then i can clearly see how showing them the inaccuracies of the doctrine wouldn't matter.
can we compile a list of ties 1914 has to their current beliefs?.

Keep the old date and your religion is basically like an expiration date on your milk. It's probably good for a little longer, but it's going to go bad soon.
The expiration date of 1914 may be longer than you think. The wt's last hope may be:
1914 > Noah's 120 years > 2034
It will give them another 18 years and it fits the doctrine of the overlapping-generation.
I don't believe that, for the coming years, many will buy their incoherent crap any longer as many eyes will be opened (for instance, think of what the ARC will trigger even more). Let alone for another 18 years!!! But as Hitler's bunker (!) shows, there will always be loyalists (!) who believe they will betray Jah himself if they ever leave his imperfect, yet approved and only earthly organization.
We will see what happens...but if they already didn't want to change 1914 into 1957 because the majority of the GB didn't want to lose face and authority (that change to 1957 was proposed by Schroeder, Klein, and Suiter in 1980 - see CoC), then why should they give it up now while Stephen Lett makes bold statements like these?:

I conclude evolution is guided
by KateWild inyour qualifications are way above mine so i'd love to hear more about the specifics of what you have researched and how that supports the existence of a deity.
k99, i am not really convinced that you're interested in my conclusions.
in nature amino acids formed to then form dna.

Katewild > I draw the conclusion that a Creator could be responsible for guiding the process, others may feel this is evidence of evolution without external guidance.
What do you think?I think you made a good point and "could" is a well chosen word ;-)
I think homochirality is a millstone around the neck of abiogenesis.
I think the first proteins couldn't arise from a primordial soup with only racemic ingredients.
