Visiter, I feel sorry for this unnecessary shunning, all because of a tree! If only these witnesses would be just as sensitive regarding the UN hypocrisy and ARC lies... sigh...

Another family needlessly torn apart
by Visitor1984 ini'm feeling very angry tonight as i watched my mother in law end her relationship with my husband, her son, tonight.
we were happily inactive, enjoying a distant but decent relationship with my in laws until they saw some christmas decorations and everything changed.
i spent two hours getting drilled on whether my husband and i celebrate holidays, to be told that my laws won't socialize with us anymore.

Love the series.
It would be a fair warning if the governing body woud find a horses head in their bed.

Athanasius> The sad thing about this potential ban on JWs in Russia, is that the Watchtower will play this up to draw attention away from their child abuse scandal.
I know what you mean, but this doesn´t have to be sad at all. When such a news item pops up in the media, often optional and related news items pop up as well. A domino effect leading to TTATT is possible. Wouldn´t WT make themselves more suspicious if someone finds out about this one-sided news coverage?

The reality of "shunning" and character assasination highlighted at the Australian Royal Commission
by stuckinarut2 inonce again, the arc has brilliantly highlighted the reality that any witness who either fades or disassociates is subjected to active official shunning by the organization.. the "brothers" tried to state that it was the choice of the indiviual who steps away from the organization to shun them!
they actually tried to make it out to be the fault of the one who leaves!
then they tried to say that those who fade are not shunned!.

They actually tried to make it out to be the fault of the one who leaves!
Then they tried to say that those who fade are NOT shunned!Today I´ve had multiple cringe moments watching these new video´s!
I hardly can believe it would be possible after ARC 2015, but now I´m even more ashamed of these WT ''representatives'' who clearly haven´t learned a fuc%&ng thing!

Congrats p.e. Great that you have found some true friends and encouragement here.
I believe the first year is the most difficult and although we had to deal with our own personal challenges, this forum (which I joined 14 months ago) has been a strong motivation for me never to return to the Borg. Where will we be in another year? Looking forward to the next anniversary!!

Is Jehovah God guilty of the Sin of Omission ?
by smiddy inin genesis ch.1&2 god warns adam that if he ate of the tree of knowledge of good and bad he would die .theire was nothing said about anything else.. you would expect humans would just die of old age like adam and eve did.. the wages of sin is death the bible tells us .so if he disobeyed jehovah god he knew he would die .. what he never knew and neither did any other human to come after him was just how many ways death would come to humans.. death by creatures that were created by god venomous creatures ,snakes spiders etc.,marine creatures sharks etc., bacteria /viruses etc.,insect carrying diseases such as the mosquito that causes thousands of deaths to children under 5 years old even today with malaria.,wild animals etc,.leprosy that even existed under theocratic rule in the nation of israel.. then their is the indignties humans go through in old age ,loss of bodily functions , mental capacity ,alzheimers ,neurological diseases that effect young and old.that reduce people to almost live not much better than a vegetable .
natural disasters not to be excluded because these are in the control of god to afflict mankind or not.. the list of afflictions that humans have to suffer through before they die , from a loving god just boggles my mind.. and i have only scratched the surface of indignities humans have faced before they die.. so i ask the question is god jehovah guilty of the sin of omission ?
or did he act out of vengeance for their disobedience and wanted to inflict greater punishment upon them.for disobeying him.. what are your thoughts ?.

To me, it also was omission by NOT telling there was a new visitor in the house...a hyper-intelligent deceptive fallen angel and potential serial killer that also was a master illusionist. What lovingly father allows his children to play in a park while knowing there's such a hideous and invicible psychopath out there looking for victims? Oh...he gave them ONE warning...that'll do.

Any atheists here? Have you come to terms with your new reality?
by kpop inalone, without my safety net of "god" being there to remember me when i die.
after much consideration, examining science, history and using logic, i have come to the conclusion that there is no "god" at least certainly no loving, personal "god.
" shortly before my final conclusion was reached, i read an excerpt from an expression attributed to marcus aurelius, .

I'm jealous at the people who have found peace in atheism. I'm not ready for that step and I'm not sure if I ever will. Accepting that there is no one true religion was no problem for me. But finding out that miracles/events such as turning water in wine, salvation through a blood sacrifice, riding on an ass have Greek/Roman origins scares the shit out of me. It would really hurt me if even a historical figure like Jesus would be "pagan" and a fraud.
I tell you, cleaning up the hard-disc never was so hard!
