Amazing! Yesterday I was on a party and spoke to a person who's father also was born in 1899, but in this case it took an overlapping generation, not a single person like Emma Morano to reach the current year 2017.

What a story STADD and yes, the cult sucks! I had a dream long time ago while still in, but I won't tell about it now. Maybe another time. Welcome to the world of indoctrination!

To those taking a stand and not attending the Memorial tonight
by doubtfull1799 ini salute you.
many of you, like me, are probably under enormous emotional pressure, whether from a lingering false sense of guilt from your indoctrination, whether from "invitations," and assumptions that you'll naturally be coming, or whether from outright emotional blackmail, even begging and pleading.
i am thinking of you whoever you are, all of you, even though i don't know you in person.

You just dropped a bomb on me! I never thought about the fact that the 1914 prophecy is based on our modern calendar and not the Jewish lunar calendar used at the time the prophecy was written. Good catch!Thank you truth_b_known, I'm 100% under the radar but they gave an invitation to my daughter and when she showed it to me, it was the first thing I noticed in the text. It is that inconsistancy that strikes me again and again. You can't have it both ways, but the WT does and it's a bloody shame there are no critical questions about it from the witnesses themselves (at least, not that I know of) or any thinking return visit/bible study.
It's also a point that has been adressed on this forum several times and I'm planning to use it more in the future. Witnesses beware!

Met three JW's in town today. First two sisters, putting their last memorial invitations in the post boxes of an institution for elderly people and then one brother. Only the brother asked me if I'd be visiting the memorial this evening. 2015 was my last one. The answer was no. I also said that if they insist on using the Jewish moon calender for the memorial, they also should use that 360 day calender for calculating 1914. He knew I left the borg because of 1914 (and the abuse cases) and he answered that I'm focusing too much on dates. I told him it were not my dates but the WT's and that I couldn't sell that from door to door. He knows I know TTATT and he agrees to some part of it, but chooses to remain in the Borg. He feels it comes closest...we respect each others stance. Isn't freedom a great thing?

Had Putin Reconsidered the ban of Watch Tower in RUSSIA ?
by lusitano o tuga inwhere is the source ???.
is it that a big snowstorm will stop the trial in the supreme russian court and the case will be postponed?.
the modern elijahs prayed to the true god and he heard or he will hear and he will bring a great blizzard(snowstorm) in moscow or st. petersburg and prevent judgment against jehovah's witnesses?

WHERE IS THE SOURCE???
Well lusitano, you probably haven't read the comments at ILoveTTATT2's OP, but on this particular day of the year I wouldn't bother too much about the source.

Russian Earthquake Forces Putin to Reconsider – Won’t Ban Jehovah’s Witnesses
by ILoveTTATT2 inap – april 1st, 2017. russian earthquake forces putin to reconsider – won’t ban jehovah’s witnesses.
in a stunning reversal of events, vladimir putin had an emergency meeting with all un members and made a proposition unbanning jehovah’s witnesses worldwide.. after the devastating 6.9 earthquake in eastern russia, and after receiving nearly one metric ton of letters from jehovah’s witnesses worldwide, putin changed his mind and decided not only to not ban jehovah’s witnesses in russia, but proposed to the un to remove all restrictions from jehovah’s witnesses worldwide.. surprisingly, jehovah’s witnesses were not pleased.. david a. ssholian, the spokesman for jehovah’s witnesses, said that “this reversal is a disaster for jehovah’s witnesses worldwide.
we just can’t be unbanned everywhere, that would be a severe blow for our faith.”

July's watchtower leaves out some important info from a quote!
by stavro injerome over on discuss the truth has picked up on something interesting.. in the july watchtower on page 28 of the article entitled “winning the battle for your mind” the following statement is made “keep in mind that satan does not want you to think clearly or reason things out well.
because propaganda is likely to be most effective, says one source, if people… are discouraged from thinking critically.”.
the quote comes from a book entitled: “media and society in the twentieth century: a historical introduction by lyn gorman, david mclean" the watchtower however, chose to leave out a portion of the quote.. the full quote is "therefore, it is likely to be most effective if people do not have access to multiple sources of information and if they are discouraged from thinking critically.. the following sentence which the watchtower also decided was best not to include states,.

I want the quote, the whole quote and nothing but the quote! lol
Thank you Stavro (and darkspliver for the original quote)! Love this new, fresh example of WT's continuing intellectual dishonesty by misquoting authorities. It's useful for my sporadic contacts with active JW's. It also shows that WT still considers "their" sheep to be simpletons. WT underestimates the power of GoogleALMIGHTY, the digital angel of light!

The Russian letters
by purrpurr inso all the jw's i know are practically wetting their pants in excitement over the russian letters they are sending out.
they seem to have this insane idea that putin's office will be pulled sky high with all these letters and they have this image in their imaginations of him having to open and read every letter (!).
also all the jw's i know have all put their name and address on the letter... which couldn't have any repercussions of course (!

Well I was sent on the errand of sending my families letters, I posted them alright! .... IN THE BIN! Putin is not getting my families details for a database!
Great job purrpurr, that's a healthy dose of reality!
Oh, and lastly the jws are also saying that this type of campaign has worked in the past, like in Malawi!
Hmm...my thoughts?
