TD, thanks for the additional info. True, this is not their most damaging flip-flop doctrine but there are so many that we have enough proof in order to identify the false prophet.

The book burning has started
by pale.emperor indon't know if this is a global thing but i've just been told by a pimo member of my old congregation that a min servant has been given the task of destroying all old books/literature in the kh library prior to 1992.. could be the elders (or even one of them) on a mission to stamp out dissent as my ex-wife used the same reasoning to her elder dad that i used in my jc: rutherfords books containing failed predictions.. anyone else heared anything?.
the ms who's been given the task is a company man.
no hope of him keeping them or selling them on ebay.. they have some russell books in that library too.

Delusion and lack of critical thinking is strong here
Bobby, with all respect, but that's not very kind of you. Are the 1968 and 1969 Awake articles (just to name a few) also available at the WT Library?
If not, why?
1975 anyone?

Thanks Fall Guy.
Russell was wrong about certain dates, such as 1914 and 1915, but even he would turn in his grave when faced with all these flip-flop doctrines. At least he believed and wrote:
"A new view of truth never can contradict a former truth. 'New Light' never extinguishes older 'light,' but adds to it. ...So is it with the light of truth; the true increase is by adding to, not by substituting one for another." Zion's Watch Tower, February 1881
Has anyone tried this one on active witnesses? Would be fun to hear some experiences.

Kingdom News No. 37
A Worldwide Message
The End of False Religion Is Near!False Religion . . .
▪ TOLERATES IMMORAL SEX: In Western lands, church groups ordain gay and lesbian members of the clergy and urge governments to recognize same-sex marriages. Even churches that condemn immorality have tolerated religious leaders who have sexually abused children. What, though, does the Bible teach? It plainly states: “Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men . . . will inherit God’s kingdom.” (1 Corinthians 6:9, 10) Do you know of religions that condone immoral sex?Yes oh yes WT, I know of such religions!
I found a physical copy in Dutch. Remember this tract?
I feel ashamed that I actually was part of this hypocritical campaign back in 2006 but I'm convinced that it can still be used in a very special way!

Have you ever gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?
by stuckinarut2 injust wondering if anyone has gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?
(perhaps to an area far from your old khall where you know no one).
with all the changes from 2012 onwards (videos, tv screens, new meeting format, new songs etc) it would be an odd experience to be in attendance!.

I got out before the CLAM meetings began, and I'm a curious guy, so now and then I had this foolish thought of having a small taste of this new, fresh and improved midweek spiritual provision in another cong.
There is a reason I still haven't...the incredible boredom...even confirmed by many who are still in.

Pillowgate makes headlines in Finland
by Festus inlocal newspaper in finland has published an article concerning wtbs:s "pillowgate@ videos.
the local "communications manager" of jehovah's witnesses - veikko leinonen - has declined to comment them.
according to him they are for internal use only.

Wow, who would have thought that the first month of 2018 would see such a great anti-witness video getting so much attention? And... made by the witnesses themselves???
I wouldn't!

Couldn't the GB have foreseen "spiritual endangerment" taking hold with Internet approval?
by compound complex inhaving listened to the two gb helpers (and cedar's interspersed commentary), i was somewhat taken aback at the comments on the widespread availability of smartphones and such at bethel.
of course, in the congregations, too.

When you believe the end is near (I believe in the 90's they still did), the internet must have also been considered a logical step in order to fulfill Matthew 24:14 in its final stages (well, at least it must have given that impression to many JW's).
H2O was the first internet forum for JW and non-JW to share information and Google was just beginning. That might have looked still manageable when WT started their own website in 1997 (I believe it was that year). Soon after, Y2K and the 2001 terrorist attacks seemed to indicate there was something huge to come, but...again the end didn't come.
Like LisaRose said, the world became more than obsessed with the latest digital technology and it exploded during the 00's. The world now lives online and yes, that includes JW's.
So, time has proven to be against them, Pandora's box cannot be closed and like never before, fact checking, information sharing, bad publicity and activism is weakening the Borg like termites. Also, the danger of "accidentally" stumbling on online porn and "apostate" material becomes inevitable when the Borg allows you to use smartphones and tablets all the time for service, watching and showing video's, online bible reading, for singing kingdom songs, for research etc.

What would you say?
by Freedom rocks inif you had 2 minutes with an old witness friend or with a family member to convince them the 'truth' is a lie and the gb isnt being directed by god what would you say to get their attention that might make them question their beliefs?.

Some parts have already been mentioned by others, but this is what I'd do...
Two minutes would be enough to read these verses from Deuteronomy chapter 18:
20 “‘If any prophet presumptuously speaks a word in my name that I did not command him to speak or speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die. 21 However, you may say in your heart: “How will we know that Jehovah has not spoken the word?” 22 When the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word is not fulfilled or does not come true, then Jehovah did not speak that word. The prophet spoke it presumptuously. You should not fear him.’
and then point out that "God's" only true and spirit directed organisation on earth was wrong about the end of this system and/or the preaching work in 1914, 1915, 1925, 1941, 1975, within' the 20th century
and then ask: The WT was wrong at least six times! According to these deuteronomy verses... how many times do you think a prophet could falsely speak in the name of Jehovah before it would become clear that he is a false prophet? New light would never conflict with such important dates coming from jehovah's own revealed timetable.
If there's some time left, I'd add this bonus:
John 8:44 clearly states that the devil is a liar and the father of the lie.
With a long history of so many failed prophecies, how would the WT be an exception in the light of this inspired word? Maybe read while the other was still thinking...
1 John 4:1 Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired statement, but test the inspired statements to see whether they originate with God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
