Very good questions Doug, food for thought (and not only for the WT lady by the cart as your "overall objective" makes clear ).

Notes I drafted for a local JW at a cart
by Doug Mason inin recent weeks, a grizzled old man, obviously harmless, has been engaging with a nice lady as she regularly stands by her cart displaying watchtower material.. on monday, she eagerly wanted to know what this old man thought of the book she gave him, "what does the bible really teach?".
when this old man posed some questions, she was very keen for him to write them down.. she also promised to provide facts that earthquakes proved we are living in the last days.. anyway, to make a short story longer, the old man drafted questions and observations on the topics that were covered.. would you please criticise the stuff that this old man has drafted for his next encounter.
any help, anything at all, is most keenly looked for.

Geez... you missed the 'pillowgate' hype???
Well, there's a search box. If I may suggest, type "pillowgate" (not pillow gate) for best results.

I sent off my application to study Palaeobiology (MSc) at Bristol uni and ...
by LoveUniHateExams in... they've accepted me!
finance is already sorted - they're waiting for me to give them my new student number so that they can start paying me.
just need to formally accept bristol's offer and sort out accommodation.. accommodation should be ok - i've been told priority is given to new students, plus i'm enrolling onto a program for a real degree as a postgraduate - i won't be studying gender studies or some crap like that.

Branch Co-ordinators letter re the Australian Royal Commission
by stuckinarut2 inthis letter was posted on the aust and nz facebook group this week.. it is self explanatory!
wow.... it seems to be their attempt at controlling the situation after the arc fallout.. .

Thanks for the full text Anders, really helpfull.
No doubt it will be much better if the Commission receives this information from the branch, rather than from apostate opposers.
Darn! Why do they fear "apostate-driven lies" so much? Aren't they "mentally diseased" by the WT's own words?
And they still dare to call the bORG spirit-directed...

It rather seems to be the one inch line for the WT. Lol
Everyone listening to Jackson is the real idiot!
He was lying under oath before the ARC in 2015. Boy did I run...... from the tower!!!
So, in fact I need to thank you for showing me the path back to freedom mr. Jackson! I hope you will help many more to wake up, just keep on telling your "spirit-directed" BS!

With respect to all believers... well said Alex!
I think you gave a good constructive reply that shows the many positive elements of life outside the bORG.
Witnesses can be confused, surprised, even jealous maybe, when faced with succesful real life stories outside the bORG such as these. Almost as if it' s impossible for "doubters" and "apostates" to avoid a life of misery and failure under full satanic influence.
When ex-JW's f*ck up their lives, it is often due to WT's disastrous abuse or shunning policies or the incapacity of born in JW' s to deal with the challenges of real life. Those stories, not the positive ones, will often be told as "warning examples", thus giving a twisted view of life outside the bORG.
Like others on this forum already have said regularly, living a happy life is the best revenge.
Enjoy your family and good luck with your Latvian brother!

What is cinema's first slasher film?
by LoveUniHateExams ini've heard this topic discussed before.. last night, psycho (1960) was the first slasher film, according to the guy i was listening to.. i think psycho was kinda the first 'modern' horror film, in that it was set in 20th century america - there were no vampires, castles and cobwebs.
the monster could live next door.
that's what people found really terrifying, i think.. the two kills in psycho definitely involve slashing but to me the film is mainly about tension, psychological horror, not slashing.

What about "The Ten Commandments" (1956)?
I mean, slashing first born sons Exodus style and so...
