TD, that is a very good point to the firearm ignorant. A Muzzle loader was once a military firearm, the lever action was developed for the civil war in the Tyler Henry, the bolt actions are all in some way based on the Paul Mauser design, the single shot in the trap door, revolver, pistol, semi and full autos have all been used by the military. Real gun owners not the fake ones used on the fake news site CNN know the end game is the same, if the left can chip away at the fringe, standard capacity mags, 20s and 30s and the cosmetic look alikes such as the AK, AR and others once they have that banned it would not be two shakes of a dead lambs tail before it would be "why does anyone need a snipers rifle [I.e. Scoped rifle] to defend them-self." That gun with a scope was made for killing I tell yas. Or the "assault " shot gun. Any shotgun not a single shot. Once they are gone you have a few revolvers and rifles that you can either say just turn them in or heavily regulate them so that they are as restricted as the full autos are now. Funny if you don't like the thread content why did you post on it? LOL Typical liberal. Coons are not a threatened species. In fact they adapted very well to humans encroaching on habitat. In fact I admire them a lot. Smart and cute. But the fact is they carry disease and many times rabies. They can be a danger to pets and humans. So when one is brazen enough to open a locked cat door to my porch and can get by the floor plate and steal the bait and not get caught then I have to resort to other means. I have trapped and relocated several coons and a few armadillos and Possum. I did shoot one coon that looked to be rabid. He was loosing fur and was highly aggressive. Better to be safe and eliminate him so no disease spreads.

growing up, we only had four channels on our tv (nbc, cbs, abc and pbs).
and yet there always seemed to be something of interest to see.. sadly, i often find myself watching shows where some guys are auctioning off storage lockers, killing alligators, picking junk from peoples' garages or barns, catching tuna, towing cars, driving trucks on the ice, catching crabs, running pawn shops ... etc etc etc.

I had high hopes for the new Twilight Zone but it was total Shitshow. It was the ultimate political correct BS. Guns kill by them-self, Cops just want to shoot black kids, bla bla bla. It was total crap. West world is not bad. Better call Saul is not horrible but really slow. Ozark is one of the better shows on Netcrap. Project Blue book is not bad, first season in the can. I know what you mean, its hard in all the stuff out there to find something not pushing an agenda.

A lot of what dives the AR market is the availability, and price. Right now you can pick one up for 350 to 400.That is cheap. The FNFAL is a great gun weighs about 6 pounds more than an AR and fires a 7.62x51 Nato or 308. I know for the purest they are not exactly the same but that is in the case thickness. You can fire a 308 in a FAL no issues at all. The other gun I like more than an AR is the M1a. this is a semi auto version of the M14 which was selective fire. It was never an assault rifle [M14] because it was a full on battle rifle. I shoot the M1a by Springfield armory. Great gun, a bit heavy. The AR is like going to the range with a 1022. Shoot all day and no issues with sore shoulder.

iwantoutnow No the AR15 was never used by the armed forces. The M16 was adopted by the US military in the 60s. It evolved into the M4 the most current one used today by the US military. The M16 was a selective fire, semi and full auto. The M4 is a semi auto and 3 round burst. The 3 round burst was adopbed due to the fact that when using full auto unless shooting into a crowd where people or what ever is shoulder to shoulder you miss way more than you hit. The AR15 is a semi auto not a selective fire rifle. It won the semi auto rifle wars IMO due to the fact that ammo is so cheap, about 179 bucks for 1000 rounds and cheaper if you load your own and easier to get than 7.62x39. Not that 7.63x39 is hard to get but most of it comes in from Russia. It was import banned from China. Also the AK was much harder to customize. The AR as I said before can be customized from color to type of stock, trigger, rails and add ons much easier than an AK. The avg. AR is 2 to 3 pounds lighter than its AK counter part. Due to the loose tolerances on an AK the AR is much more accurate. The pros of the AK are the bullets are 30 cal. or 7.62 MM and weigh avg 124 grains, the AR 5.56 mm or 22 cal and weigh on avg 55 grains. Penetration is much better on an AK round. But the Russians do not use the AK47 any longer they use the AK74 which necked down the 7.62 round to a 22 round.

I am not for gun control and although a law abiding citizen who builds an 80% AR or the Poly80 Glock 19 copy. I have built both and its a bit unnerving how easy it would be for a criminal to get one since the gun frame which is part of any gun the ATF or gov. calls a gun the rest are just parts is not a gun till you finish it. It can be shipped to your door no questions asked. I built my Poly 80 in 30 min. and bought the upper from a Glock Gen 4 19 on ebay for 300 bucks. I was all in at about 415 and not one bit of paper trail. Unless I put a serial no on it I can not sell the frame. Not sure what can be done to make it harder for criminals and I know if they want something they will get a stolen one. I know that there have been cases of people making small factories buiding 80%ers for the criminal element. The AR15 in 223 is not acceptable to hung Deer sized game. I shot a 3 point buck at 25 feet and hit it all 5 times. It ran off and the only way I found it was by hearing the Coyotes at night fighting over the caucus. We called it the chasem gun. I got locked onto the 3006. Not as sexy as the belted mags or other more cool calibers but I can tell you that every deer I shot with it they dropped where they were shot. The 7.62x39 would be OK i guess but still not enough knock down power for me. But I also shoot at the DCMP and the AR is much more enjoyable to shoot than the Garand. 35 rounds of 3006 is a shoulder bruiser. I once was at a gun range in a state park no one was around and I have sold a Mauser, I had 400 rds of 8mm Mauser to burn up. I shot down a 20 inch pine tree. Crap my Shoulder was tender for a week. I can shoot 223 all day long and nothing aches the next day. The other thing about the AR that makes it better IMO than the AK is its so modular. You can customize it to fit your style.

Nicolaou Why are you looking for some? Blondie I have no idea WTF your are trying to say. The AR15 has a lot of uses. I don't hunt anymore. But shooting an AR is very enjoyable. Its not too expensive if you load your own ammo. I know most who are against the AR or AK would not know one from a 16oz hammer. The 223 round is used in many rifles and some pistols. The Ruger Mini-14 is a 223 semi auto but because it has a wood standard non pistol grip stock idiots will say its not an "assault rifle" Which is not what the AR is anyway. An assault rifle is a medium cartridge, not a battle rifle nor a pistol ctg, with selective fire capability. An AR15 is just a semi auto rifle. Works no different than a Remington 7400 or a Ruger 1022. It is just the ignorant fools who listen to the BS of the Media and think they know what they are talking about.
