Speaking to someone over the weekend who was on site just last week pretty much everyone has been sent home now. Just a skeleton crew there now.
They have been doing works for access roads etc on site, tree clearing and other similar activities.
There is nothing being built at the moment, nothing going up above ground. All of that is awaiting modified plans as they reduce the size of the build.
- Can you ask him how many hectares the new site is? It was 88 or something then they bought hundreds more, but that new extra land was bought before the big changes were announced.
- So is some of that land being sold off? If not what will all that land be used for?
- Will they have a Bethel farm like last time or not?
- The old Bethel farm crew must be getting on in age now, but they have been training up the next generation?

its going to be a real beautiful place when its finished.. they are going for quality over quantity.
it used to be accommodation for a few thousand permanent residents, now its looking like less than a thousand permanent with the possibility of a few thousand more in temporary accommodation should the need arise.. some say the plans are going to be like a garden of eden in england :) i mean they had farming in london over the years but this is going to be epic what they are planning for temple farm at chelmsford.. they are planting thousands (literally) of fruit trees, including tropical fruits in huge green houses, huge vines yards and then the same basic farming activities as before.

Here are my thoughts.
Accommodation. You are very wrong what you posted there. Of course its preferable to live with other witnesses, but its not always possible. Its very misleading like most of what you posted.
Its a very good suggestion not to be alone with a member of the opposite sex unless they are a close relation. This is why the JW org has the least number of immorality. When I was in Bethel the suggestion was if you are in a room with a member of the opposite sex then just leave the door open, and not the closet door LOL!
You make it sound like a very bad restrictive rule, but anybody with half a brain can see it makes sense.
APOSTASY
RULES ONE SHOULD FOLLOW
You should accept the definition of apostates as defined by Jehovah’s Witnesses’ literature.
You should accept that apostates are mentally diseased.
You should loathe and hate apostates.
You should believe that baptized members who disassociate from the religion are to be regarded as the “anti-christ”.
All not true, absolute hogwash. Mentaly diseased, anti-christ? give me break, where do you make this stuff up from.
BAPTISM

Observers of the baptism should listen attentively to the baptismal discourse. You shall dress in a modest bathing suit for your baptism.
OK you are right about this, shocking isnt it, they are encouraged to listen to this important talk, and wear modest bathing suits, oh my word.

You should accept that the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures (NWT) is the most accurate bible.
You should accept that the entire Protestant canon of scripture is the only accurate compilation of bible books.
You should not believe that the bible supports the idea of unicorns as renowned in legend.
You should meditate on what you read in the bible.
You should read the bible daily.
RULES ONE SHALL FOLLOW
You shall accept that any books that may be contained in other bibles, but which are not found in the NWT’s canon, are false. Compare Joshua 10:13 & Numbers 21;14.
You shall believe that the Bible is God’s word.
You shall believe that the bible is historically accurate.
You shall believe that the bible is scientifically sound.
You shall accept that 29 C.E. is a pivotal date in biblical chronology.
You shall believe that the Law Covenant ended and the New Covenant began at Pentecost 33 C.E.
What was that about unicorns? LOL, Im not sure if im genuinely interested or are you making yourself look stupid intentionally? Anyway all the other things are upto the individual, you either believe the Bible or not, if not then leave the truth, if you believe the bible then yes read it everyday, its Gods word.
BLOOD & MEDICINE
You should weigh the risk/benefit ratio when considering any medical treatment? Sounds like sound thinking ability to me, what your problem with this?
The rest again it all come down to if you want to believe ALL the bible, or just pick and choose, saying that bit about abstaining from blood doesnt apply in my case.

There is no doubt that JWs are correct about this. The sons of God are most certainly angels, they created bodies for themselves to have sex with pretty women on earth. The bible is very clear about this in a few places. They forsake their heavenly position to have sex with the women on earth.

1. Can you provide specific references to suggestive material to persuade its members to away from such careers? I use again Prince, or the artist formerly known as, he is very famous and now a very active brother strong in the truth, as said the Williams sisters, are top tennis players and you are wrong to say the things you said in the rules. There are many other less well known but professionals in their fields.
I think you are getting confused with suggestive material to persuade its members to away from such careers if its very time consuming and there is very little chance of success. All the pop idle and wannabes movie stars. But if you have genuine talent, then thats a different matter.

I often wondered about how the old yellow bible story book had pictures of mammoths standing on top of the mountain looking at the ark floating away,
Why were mammoths not on the ark? Or were they and they went extinct after the flood?
I expect there were lots of animals on the ark that have gone extinct since in the last 4500 years.
I also think a lot of what we were told about dinosaurs is baloney.
Most of these skeletons of dinosaurs are way off in the guess work. If you find out how much was real bones and how much is guess work its only tiny amounts of real bones.
What if elephants were extinct for thousands of years and they started find lots of bones and putting them together. How would you guess what it looked like, I think you would be way off with your estimations.

Angels
You must believe that the “Sons of the True God” in Genesis 6 are angels.
You must believe that some of the angels in the time of the flood have been imprisoned ever since.
You must believe in the Nephilim and that they were human giants, sons of angels, despite no archaeological evidence of their existence.

Taking them one at a time, there are Angles mentioned throughout the bible. As with most of the 'rules' they could be summed up with You must believe the entire Bible is Gods word.!.!
Next one is wrong, the bible doesnt say these angles have been imprisoned yet. They are the rulers of this world at present. Satan and the demons are the rulers of this world right now, thats why the world is so messed up.
The bible does say they will be imprisoned for a thousand years then let out for a short time before being destroyed forever.
There have been archaeological finds of larger skulls and even well preserved corpses from before the flood. Google the ICE MAN for one such example, he was larger than 'normal' people.

Most of the rules make sense, to avoid harmful things, but there are a lot of rules there that are not really rules but just guidence.
Like-
You must not have a career in professional sports.
You must not have a career in professional dancing.
You must not have a career in professional acting.
You must not have a career in professional music.
Well there have been a few active JWs who have broken these rules, if they were rules in the first place.
I dont think any of these so called rules can be found in any of the ORGs publications.
If so Prince would ave to be disfellowshiped. He is still a mega star, and is still doing gigs, he played in London last year I went to see him, he cleaned up his act, some of his classic songs have had the words changed to clean them.
What about the Williams sisters? They are professional sports starts and active JW's. They always give priase to Jah when they win a major tennis tournament.

I think Jesus drank his own urine on his 40 day fast.
David Blaine did a similar thing in a glass box in London, he went 40 days only drinking his own urine.

I have written to the branch asking if they think Jesus drank his own urine during the 40day fast.
This was just after he got baptised, when the dove came down above him, ALL his memories came back to him, maybe millions of years with his father in heaven. It was very overwhelming, when he realised why he had come to earth and what he had to do.
He wanted some time to himself to think about thinks, I imagine he just put his garment back on after getting baptised, and he may have has some kind of animal skin water bottle.
Then he went into the wilderness to meditate on all that he remembered.
So the account said he went 40 days without food, but what did he do for water?
