May JW Broaadcast - so bad, "it's not even wrong"
by FFGhost indon't know how many of y'all still watch it.. this month's topic is "the king of the north" - cook goes into monotonous detail over the jw interpretation about rome, germany, ussr, russia, etc.. leaving aside for other commentators the emotionally manipulative videos of jws in russian holding cells, the tearjerker interviews, the god-awful stiffness of cook (i suspect he has never genuinely smiled, much less laughed, in his 60+ years), just thought i'd comment on one topic.. the centerpiece of the program is a "morning worship" monologue from splane.
let's again just leave to the side the dude's pomposity, smugness, and inflated sense of his own genius, and think about this part of his monologue.. he was tracing the history of the "king of the north" and talked about how "britain" (not england, not the united kingdom, not great britain, but "britain" - no idea why they have that fixation - anyway...) became the kotn in the 19th century.. paraphrasing his comments: "britain would not have become kotn if france had its way.
france was much wealthier and more powerful, but at the battle of waterloo, britain defeated france.

I'll bet is gonna end in something like this: "Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most Highest God received 10 percent from Abraham....we are not under that, but what a lovable example for Christians. It is not at least that we should follow that example?
If everything is gonna be electronic they could encourage the 'happy donor" at least to be at 10 percent.

i am active as a pimo and my wife is pimi....much of our personal conversation and conversation with others in jw land focuses on how things will play out for jw.org in the next 12-24 months.

The only thing that is for sure is that change is coming.
I'll go for just making a semi monthly or monthly meeting mega church style using the Assembly Halls, KH are gonna be sold, big bucks over there. That way they could give a little rest to the RF and make them more mainstream.
Declared that preaching served its purpose, just keep special campaigns like three times a year. No more reporting time because it ' drain resources'.
And, yes, you're allowed to talk to a disfellonwship person, that is going to be a 'biblical' personal decision.

Big Cull of Foreign Language Groups and Congregations
by eyeslice ini overheard mrs eyeslice listening to '2021 governing body update 3' yesterday.
apparently, they have started ditching foreign language groups and congregations as these weren't exactly roping anyone in.
of course there is a positive spin on all this - '4,000 plus elders freed up to serve in local language congregations' and of course there has been immensely positive feedback from various branches about the benefits of this.. i suspect though there will be an awful lot of elders who were serving as king pins in these congregations who are going to have their noses put out by going back to local language congregations where they will barely be used.

Under that logic, the next GB generation have a perfect reason to stop or redesign preaching altogether because if there are no more people interested in those biblical studies........let us redirect our efforts to something else.

What do you think will be different in the Organization after the pandemic is over?

Ohhh...that's a good one. Let's see....there is no biblical justification about all those Kingdom Halls...we are gonna use the Assembly Halls instead...like you know, megachurches. Meet over there once a month beside regular assemblies, of course. And preaching? Do it a couple of times a year, in special campaigns. Simplification, simplification.

Congregation Letter - 2021 Magazines Delayed???
by JWTom inwe had a letter read in our cong.
last week that said the public wt and awake would be delayed during the beginning of 2021. meaning we would just use the 2020 version into 2021 and there would be no new ones at the beginning of 2021 until an undetermined time sometime during the 1st half of 2021. at least that is the gist that i remember.
it was in what atlantis provided but there was no further detail....very brief.. any more intel or speculation on this?

It's gonna change eventually with GB 3.0 or 4.0, in rural Africa they don't enforce it, I think. When they realize that people run away from an strict dress code they are gonna relax it.

Yes, Waton, but remember, it is just entertaining, to try to prove anything.
For example, you could be bold and say 'Jerusalem destruction propehcy ' was the biblical type and now we are in the antitype.
That keeps the RF awake, I guess.

Let's guess bold here....
Time since Jesus Christ prophecy in Mathew about Jerusalem destruction, he made in 36 and it was fulfillled in 70. Then, taking 70 minus 36 give you 34 years. Now we take Daniel "time, times and a half" equally to three and a half. 34 years multiplied by 3.5 gives you 119 years.
So it should take 1914 plus 119 years. That is 2033, bingo.
But please, don't mess with this and try to overlap it!!!
