Aroq: The hypocrisy is the wt themselves. They make claims against other "churches" that they themselves do. Example: Child abuse/pedophilia from among their clergy and the cover up of it to save face. They loved it when the Catholics got caught, but now they're dealing with the SAME thing.

The claims are against their Slander of God and Christ- and EVERY group- religious, political, and business- has the Pedophile problem. They / we NEVER "loved it" when the situation in the RCC was revealed, sicko.

Stillin: David Jay is referring to something that is also called "confirmation bias." Personal research is good but it's almost impossible to keep one's self neutral. Denial kicks in, cognitive dissonance kicks in. And results get skewed.

The word most often used for God in the Hebrew Bible is Elohim. The word is a topic of frequent theological discussion and defining. But what is often lacking is accurate and detailed information based on the biblical contexts in which the word is found.

Section A — Summary of Biblical Usage

"Elohim" is found 2602 times in the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh, Old Testament). (It is not used in the Greek New Testament.)
The word is used for: the true God, false gods, supernatural spirits (angels), and human leaders (kings, judges, the messiah).
The "–im" ending denotes a plural masculine noun. Most of the time, however, when the noun is used for the true God it has singular masculine verbs. This is contrary to rules of Hebrew grammar.
When used of the true God, "Elohim" denotes what is called by linguists a plural of majesty, honor, or fullness. That is, he is GOD in the fullest sense of the word. He is "GOD of gods" or literally, "ELOHIM of elohim" (Deut 10:17; Ps 136:2).
In the Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible (the Septuagint), where elohim refers to the true God, the singular theos is used.
Genesis 1:1 Hebrew — "In the beginning, Elohim created the heavens and the earth."
Genesis 1:1 Greek — "In the beginning, Theos made the heavens and the earth.
The New Testament (which is in the same Koiné Greek as the Septuagint) does not have different words for or spellings of "God." That is, no singular or plural forms of theos. When the NT quotes passages from the Hebrew Bible or the Greek Septuagint that contain the word "God," it always has the singular noun.

we all 'exit' in our own way and at our own pace but i'm curious, why carry on stuffing yourself into that stiff suit and tie or meeting dress years after you realised the truth about 'the truth'?.

they kept you a prisoner, what's stopping you from leaving now that you have the key to your own cell?.

I freely admitted to the elders that I will never go to the assembly ReadFests, and that I never bought the "Faithful Slave Class" nonsense, and they simply encouraged me to think and pray about it, that they were nt the Masters of my faith!

Quite Inspiring.

They call on me whenever I have a reply at the meetings- when I go.....

Conclusion: Yes, the GB has many flwas and bloopers- but TRUTH is TRUTH- and my brotherhood (including them) are just people doing their best to live up to it.
