@waton: but it, the generation, will not survive, by their own admission
good point
sometimes i still take a quick glance at the daily test, usually to remind myself what i don't miss.
yesterday's and today's texts caught my eye, they were both very guilt inducing, as usual.. yesterday's text:.
"thursday, october 18- here i am!
@waton: but it, the generation, will not survive, by their own admission

i have noticed some posters (with frustration) asking for information regarding the nwt in various language editions.
here is a list of some of the nwt revised language editions published so far:.
albanian; arabic; armenian; chinese traditional 2017; danish 2017; dutch-netherlands 2017; estonian; haitian creole; italian 2017; korean 2014; modern greek 2017; norwegian 2017; portuguese 2015; romanian; russian; swahili 2017; swedish 2017; ukrainian; vietnamese.. not yet published: .
@fastJehu - thank you very much! and thanks to @MeanMrMustard for a great work!
I compared that sample to my (small) language (2006 the first complete edition, translated from the 1984 NWT) and it seems to me pretty much closer to 2013 Edition english vocabular, there is simply no room for any improvement worth a new edition, since it include the most of the appendixs and references from the 1984 "reference edition". And we got the same edition, "gray leather" reprint 2011, so my ETA for 2013 edition on my language is like never.
About other "big" languages (beside english), they already have a dozens of translations of very good quality and people are familiar with them, issuing a "new" edition with inserted pamphlets could be considered as a retrograde move. I can understand if someone at the branches hesitates to give a final aproving.
Native african and asian small languages, on the other hand, usualy have poor or incomplete translations, so Watchtower targeted them to make NWT as a their standard luxury leather Bible, soaked with JW interpretation and propaganda. Dishonest and good for bussiness move, I would say.

Anyone knows whats the difference between Revised NWT and 1984 Edition? Beside inserted pamphlets and colored Appendix? There is some textual changes, but it is english specific, i don't know how much these changes affects to existing translations.
Btw, the most of the "obscure" languages on that list:
https://www.jw.org/download/?fileformat=PDF&output=html&pub=nwt&option=TRGCHlZRQVNYVrXF
didn't have complete NWT prior 2013, just a "part" (the new testament), so that is the very first complete NWT to them.
i am interested in getting a list of lies that the watchtower has said or wrote in the past that could actually be proven to be as such, or, for the very least, deliberately misleading.

my point wasn't "the generation" itself, but the statement that baby wasn't alive 10 minutes before its birth ;)I know the generation is spectacularly senseless by anyone outside of the JW org, yet, it is not a lie. It is a religious belief.
and they said the organization would never do that.
i thought all elders were in the loop by now.
or did i miss interpret what's going on?.
Lol, my PIMI mother won't sign the "consent", my brother / her son (an elder in other state) tried to explain that's nothing big, but she still refuse :)
Btw, elders was collecting personal info about 10-15 years ago (name, marital status, date of birth, address, phone numbers, e-mails, etc), they checked my data when i moved, no matter that i'm inactive for 17 years.

notice 2:50 - 3:30, that dude basically said that baby is not alive 10 min before its birth.
so many of us have had (perhaps well-meaning) jws ask us questions about our inactivity, or lack of attendance at meetings.
they may pry about why..... how is this for a simple, yet straight to the point response?
to a sincere person, it may play on their mind and make them ask more questions.
I use to ask: "do you believe in The Bible, word of the God? If yes, please check Deuteronomy 18:18-22 and Epistle to Galatians 1:8, 9." There is plenty of examples for false predictions and "the new lights" known to rank&file JW, and to point to "the scriptures clearly said <quote from above>". That's for the start, once they start to think, i open other topics.
does anyone else wonder at the amount of time a person immediately gains when they leave the jws?.
just today, a sunday, i would have woken up at 7, frantically taken a highlighter pen to my wt to make it look like i had made a deep study of it.
packed my stuff for meeting and ministry, cycled to the kh, joined the pre meeting ministry arrangement, rushed back for the meeting, sat through a sometimes interesting public talk, sometimes mind-numbingly dull one, strained through a wt study to which i usually had more questions than answers.
Fifteen years ago when I went inactive, I decided to spend same time and effort, once reserved for "theocratical things", to do something for myself, I finished my master degree on machinery easy, cum laude, got better job and salary, and I solved my existencial situation for good. Otherwise I would struggle in problems (like I was before) and would wait for the Armageddon to solve my problems.
my turning point: serving on a child abuse judicial case.
.
Generation change was the first hint, UN case was the final one.
the wt is at it again it seems.
playing dirty as it can, trying to silence dissenters.. the john cedars channel on youtube has been taken down after the posting of a video critique of regional (district) convention leaked videos.. sounds like something putin would do in russia.
you know what they say, birds of a feather fly together--what a murder of crows all of'em!.
Fkin cultists always had an answer prepared. If you criticizing with bare hands, they say: lying apostates, where is the evidence? If you show part of material, they say: it is sliced out of context by mean apostates. If you show the whole show, they threat with charges because of copyright. The one and only true religion, yea right.
