I don't know if it help, but there is a lot of Bible Students communities continuing the work of Pastor Russell, maybe some of them could provide some pre-1916 materials:

i'll keep the watchtower books that are not available online anymore (e.g.
the brown "reasoning" book).

What was it like being a JW in the 1960's and 1970's
by UnshackleTheChains inthis is obviously a question for the older generation.
i'm really curious what it was like to be a witness in the 60's and 70's?.
was the society as strict as it is today?.

I was a kid in 70', but i would say: same sh*t different year...
Plus: it seems to me that JW was a more spiritual, less materialistic oriented. DA and DF was considered as 'people from the world', you could talk with them even in a hall. And, if I remember correctly, in the middle of the meeting was not a song to sing, just a 5-10 min break, some used that for smoking break in a yard...
Minus: More spiritual - more spiritistic and occult talks, more superstitions, more "Satan" and "demons" in common talks, i.e. when you were in a losing streak, bad things happened to you, or you just catch a cold, first to check did you got something from 'suspisious' person, if did - destroy that (by flame or throw it in deep water), if didn't - keep looking...
JW was a little more cracked and they didn't mind about that like today, everything else is pretty much same (to me, imho). -

New JW Talk Show - "The Inside Story"
by neat blue dog inhas anybody seen the new half-hour jw talk show called the inside story?
the pilot is included in part 2 of the latest gilead graduation program, and they said more will likely come.. basically, it's probably one of the most cringeworthy programs to ever come out of jw broadcasting.
it has all the tropes: an opening monologue, a studio audience, a live band, and guests that move down the couch to the left as the next guest is introduced.

Extremist - yes. If nothing else, they are ready to make a massive spam sending hundreds thousand letters to five or six addresses and disabling normal work of post offices and government institutions for days. That could be easly classified as act of terorism, at least as serious offense. Idk how much % of brain members of GB use, but organizing that international spam-fest (an offense) isn't a way to address a court.

Languages, Dialects, Accents
by LoveUniHateExams injust though i'd start a thread devoted to languages, dialects/sociolects and accents, with the idea being that posters can comment on any language, or dialect or accent of any language, on this thread.. any phrases, expressions or idioms that you find interesting are also welcome.
first, the subject of english accents came up on another thread.. the british isles have many different types of accent (although many of the dialects may be dying out), and if i start to take a closer look, i can't help but see 'patterns' .... in received pronunciation of standard english, the letter r is pronounced initially, between vowels, and after consonants, e.g.
red, arrow, break.

Huh, that was a party, just a few crackers and glass of vine, but people still talk about that night even two thousand years later...
