In that YT page, people are leaving comments patting him on the back and saying that the reporter looks so shocked at what he's telling her.

No, she shocked that she can't get a word in edgewise and that Lloyd doesn't answer her, and he's rambling on about rubbish. He's so far removed from a "conversation," just stuck in his own head.

It really betrays his narcissism, that he doesn't listen or even interact with the other person. It's about him, all the stuff in his mind that he thinks is so important, and that he must get out at all costs.

I know it's too cheap to keep comparing him to the WT but he reminds me of JWs when they're talking to people. They desperately need to share all their great knowledge about Jehovah and hellfire and paradise and why they think the trinity is wrong and yada yada yada. No one gets a word in edgewise with them, or this guy either.

No doubt another reason why his great career as an anti-cult "johnny on the spot" commentator never really took off. Who would call him up after seeing that self-absorbed, rambling nonsense?

Bear in mind, this was when the site allowed just about anyone to contribute; it's not like they edited it, reviewed it, thought it had any merit, etc. It even says above the article:

"This post was published on the now-closed HuffPost Contributor platform. Contributors control their own work and posted freely to our site. If you need to flag this entry as abusive, send us an email."

Why would a BBC interviewer read his self-published post for a quick, incidental interview like that? He really is so deluded, he thinks the outside world is just hanging on his every word.

P.S. I remember a site that was active at the time had an xJW psychologist sometimes write guest pieces and she wrote something supportive of those who favored the ban, even calling out Lloyd for "silencing" others. She made the point that, while Lloyd argued that the ban "does nothing but feed into their persecution narrative and drive them underground where the abuses can continue, only this time without any hope of intervention from the outside world," she said that being cut off from continuous indoctrination could wake up some. I think the paltry attendance after the COVID lockdowns shows which one was right, and it wasn't the fat one with a neck beard.

Dear god, he posted that in December of 2018 but by his account on his livestream, he had been visiting prostitutes every few months during that time, or started right after, or something. God really only knows how long it's been going on with him.

He could have tweaked that down to a simple two paragraphs, calling it a standard lower middle class existence and we would have gotten the point. I'm all for painting a picture but no wonder that monstrosity went over 800 pages.

She's brilliant and resourceful.

And yet he's the one who had to flee England with his family due to bad debt... I don't care if you're a pioneer, you pay your bills and put food on the table before you try out for some privileged position in your stupid religion. Even now he's crying that he supposedly can't pay for his daughter's haircut... well then get a real job you lazy pile of human trash. Like your beloved mother did. You think she enjoyed caring for someone else's kids? Probably not but she did what she needed to do to support her kids, so drop the hypocrisy of admiring her for her resourcefulness while you seem to have none.

His dad was a bumbling fool; unattractive, clumsy, broke and not worthy in any way of his mum.

And that's Lloyd in a nutshell. If it wasn't for that religion elevating men to their godlike status and women to just their "helpers" and housekeepers, neither Lloyd nor his dad would stand a chance with any decent woman.

I wonder when it will hit Lloyd that there's a reason he has to pay for sex outside his marriage and hasn't just hooked up with some woman down the street or someplace? Since we know you're reading Lloyd, it's not just because you're ugly on the outside but because you're an ugly person on the inside. No self-respecting woman would tolerate a date with your self-absorbed personality, much less want to hop in the sack with you.

JFC what does any of that story have to do with anything? (I mean that toward Lloyd, not toward @las for posting it.) Was there a point he made in that nonsense, something about how it affected them as Witnesses, something to do with his waking up process, anything?

Also interesting that he admits his mother was the more mature one of his parents but then treats his wife like such rubbish.

People did move on from the COC debacle. People did move on from the time he attacked people for asking that their $150 donation for his second book go instead for another abuse survivor's story. People moved on from all these shithead attacks. condescension and outright arrogance.
It never worked. He kept upping the ante every time he got away with it.

Excellent points. I think from my time and the wife's time back then that people were willing to say "okay these things were wrong but like a teenager stepping out into the world, you're immature and just learning how to behave so we'll forgive you..." BUT with the unspoken agreement that he would learn his lesson and do better as time went on, just as you would a child.

Instead, like you said, he just kept shitting all over anyone and everyone. Maybe it had the opposite effect, that he kept getting emboldened... "look, I can steal someone else's book, lie about it, post a big thread about how they're the bad guy, and still just get more viewers to my channel... I can ask people to pay me to include their abuse stories in my book, in a whopping 300 words that I must approve, and people will still follow me and buy that same book..."

He never felt any reason to change so why be a better person if there's nothing in it for him? But his narcissism is so deep, this last fiasco has actually cost him half his patrons and virtually everyone who worked with him but he still doesn't see a need to change, just attacks and claims they're lying and he's the victim and waa waa.

Better learn how to budget Lloyd because the days of you sucking off the xJW teat are long over. No more getting thousands up front to write a book, your YT audience is mediocre at best, and no one wants you on any of their projects, xJW or otherwise. I've said it before, you brought all this on yourself. Good luck to you in your future endeavors LOL.

@pr0ner Honestly, having a legit company you use for activism isn't a bad idea in theory, it's just the people running these companies have turned out to be garbage. A real company with objectives and projects that get shit done... nothing wrong with that. But I remember AAWA back in the day and the whole "outing" by force adding into Facebook groups was disgusting. And I think there was some sexting by some members, or something... whatever the case, it was like a bunch of stupid children with no clue how to behave as a real business.

That was one of his early missteps, pretending that he could tell his patrons to mind their own business without facing consequences.

That's why you don't wait until your children are adults to discipline them. He's been taught this sense of entitlement his whole life; as a man and then an elder in the religion, he could do whatever he wanted and then just throw his weight around (not literally because that might kill someone) and people would need to not only mind their business but admit he's right just by virtue of his maleness and eldership in the religion.

Unfortunately being coddled by his minions outside the religion didn't help. He learned he could keep screaming and chest thumping and making comments about his family's safety and his mental health and his life's work and whatever else, and still get his own way.

Plus he’s just not that smart. An intelligent person could see when they can push and when to step back and keep some things close to the vest. He’s just so self-absorbed he literally doesn’t think he can do anything wrong, ever.

why did Evans soar to prominence?

IMHO he worked hard to elbow his way into anything that gave him prominence, first aided and abetted by Richard Kelly and AAWA. Kelly wanted to turn activism into a business and nonprofit (probably to funnel his own money through for tax purposes, I suspect) and used that clout as a real business to approach people like Hassan and suggest JWs be part of Hassan's next edition of his cult books. I assume Hassan used Lloyd's story in it since he was then associated with AAWA and Kelly needed that inclusion. So, the ass pimple didn't do it all on his own.

That selfishness and pushiness is what got him into the Crisis of Conscience fiasco. Whoever the publisher was, they let it fall by the wayside, so Lloyd didn't even ask for permission but just snapped it up and started printing hard copies. Even put his logo on the back because he has to be included in something xJW related. Problem is, he doesn't have the brains to think these things through and thought he could just keep chest thumping and crowing and get his own way, like a typical spoiled JW man-baby.

I also remember Lloyd working his way into a quick snippet of a TV interview just when he was starting to get big and important in his own flea brain, and it was a complete disaster. Something about shunning was brought up and he starts to ramble about when the practice began and other trivial nonsense that no one cared about. Even the interviewer has that "what the hell" look on her face.

But of course that didn't stop him from constantly pushing himself into the face of other reporters, who were probably just so eager for an audience and story that they turned a blind eye to legit detractors.
