The whole "dating" concept wasn't offered until he realized that people were dropping him like a hot shit for soliciting prostitutes. In his mind, he thought he could just say he was using prostitutes, blame his wife for not fulfilling his needs and WT for tampering with his sexuality, and it would all be fine. Everyone would be so sympathetic and supportive.

So, when he saw his support drying up left and right, he had to alter his story and suddenly paint it as if he was actually going out on legitimate dates with someone who just happened to be a sex worker. In Thailand. Where he was for a month. Because of course sex workers in Thailand legitimately "date" foreign men who are in their country for a limited time. But that was the only straw he could grasp at once he realized he could no longer BS people and count on their unwavering support. Uselss lying deceitful ass hat.

Didn't he also get pissed when he found out they were all sharing one copy of the book rather than paying for their own individual copies, or something like that? If I'm not mistaken, he not only didn't pay them but expected them to buy a book that they would translate for free.

Doing a second edition is stupid; everyone has already read it. It's not a health handbook or map of fun stuff to do in L.A. or other guide that people might need to buy every few years. Seriously, who updates their story AFTER they become irrelevant?

I'm sure the updates will include some whiny story about the "defamation" against him. Yes Lloyd, do put it in writing so Kim and the rest can have this very real attorney they've hired sue the living shit out of you. God he's so stupid...

Whatever he earned, we know it's probably mostly gone by now. He has a (now ex) wife, two growing kids, and expensive habits to support. Book sales from something that is old news fast is nothing to rely on long-term, and especially for JWs... look at his second book, about "escaping" the JWs. That's now outdated with their changed rules on DFing and shunning. Even if he earned $100,000 from the book, that's a decent but not amazing annual salary for a family head here in the U.S. But even an amazing salary, you need to earn it every year, not just once and then you're set for life.

But like it's been brought out, he never thought the gravy train would stop rolling. He's like these actors or rappers or whoever, they hit it big with their debut or first role and assume they're gonna be millionaires for life, and then find out their follow up material is outdated or they get too big for their britches and on one wants to hire them, etc. Pretty soon they're declaring bankruptcy and having to sell off their ugly houses and gold teeth just to buy food.

A very rough estimate of 20,000 copies sold is reasonable. It might be more; I’d be surprised if it was much fewer.

I have to disagree for a few reasons; while it's interesting that he's gotten 600 reviews, I think more readers of his book would be impelled to review it because they were more excited to see a book against Watchtower than, say, someone reading a random mystery novel. His followers are also more cult-like than you find with anyone else so they'll leave a good review if their lard and master tells them to.

Bookstores don't sell self-published books as they don't work with individual authors but through a distributor. Distributors don't work with self-published authors as it's a nightmare trying to establish revenue sharing, returns, etc. Remember that dumb little book signing he did in London or wherever, no one showed up and he left a few with the store owner?

So we can rule out a lot of members of the general public buying it. That leaves exJWs on social media, Hemant Mehta's audience (he wrote the foreword), random YouTube viewers, and anyone clicking on his website.

Also, the size and price is prohibitive for a lot of people and there was a free PDF floating around for a time.

So I'd say several thousand is a good estimate but highly doubt it even got to 10,000. Just my two cents of course.

I honestly don't know if I believe those Patreon numbers. Half (or more) might just be him attempting to save face. It's something a loser like him would do, as his swirls down the bowl.

He's at 365 paid so he lost one sometime yesterday. Hopefully that means any upticks he gets due to all these changes and more people searching for content will be minimal if even nonexistent.

I heard last night that from now on, disfellowshipping is for 90 days before you can be reinstated. WTF? Their members will be screwing each other and doing drugs and whatever else, and just taking a 90-day breather from having to schlepp microphones.

All these changes, he's bound to have an uptick but I'm curious where it will be 6 months from now when people inside adjust.

As the GB abolishes their cultic rules and doctrines and makes JWism mainline, the religion will no longer be an authoritarian threat. So why would anyone pay Lloyd money to rail against doctrines and rules the JWs no longer practice?

Excellent point. I'm also thinking that he might get a slight uptick in members if he kicks out more content. Right now, with all the changes to JWs, it's easy to comment on WT without doing a lot of research or relying on someone else to feed you info on legal cases... a perfect scenario for lazy asses like him.

Plus, more people might be searching for content, to find out what's going on. So he might have a good month or two ahead of him but again, it's all bubble and burst with his useless self.

WT has also never been drying up as much as what I'm seeing right now. They think these changes will retain members but it just makes people question their credibility all the more. Sure, some diehards will gobble up the "new light" BS but others are like, if you're changing so much, that means you didn't know what you were talking about last year, last decade, etc. A lot of diehard JWs also like the idea of being as different as possible... no beards, jackets and ties, and skirts really made them "stand out from the world." Now they're losing their holier-than-thou identity. So they're bound to lose more members than keep them with this rubbish, which also means less work for Lord of the Fries over here.

In the meantime, anyone wanna guess what this is all about? I'm thinking he's getting such a shitty turnout for his conference calls, he's opening the door to other, less deserving members. All of one little heart between the two posts. His ego must be starving.
