The wonder of scientific research

this has possibly been brought up before however here goes.. constant reference is made by many posters to scientific research as being the only way to prove something factual that would otherwise have to be taken on faith.

there actually seems to be "faith" in scientific findings.. my experience over many years is that most scientific research is fake.

nothing oftencomes of the big announcements made to raise more money.. money, prestige, pride, human error, suppositions etc., are rife amongst the scientific community.. i realise that there have been many advances over hundreds of years but humankind is in a mess, although very different to even a century ago.. the medical profession now has vaccinations for everything, antiviral drugs etc.

It is large Monsanto style businesses that beg government for cash when they don't need it. That sell overpriced and extremely harmful products such as "you can bathe in it" glyphosate. There are hundreds of major chemical companies creating trash food, medicines that are little more than poison. Petrochemical products for us to wash with, perfumes, deodorants. I could literally go on forever with this.

three years ago I had CABG open heart surgery without blood. I was in hospital for 24 days mostly because they couldn't find a suitable blood thinner for me. Really? I was constantly visited by a young smiling female oncologist who was obviously aware of my previous medical history and wanted to "follow up" on a previous refusal for a prostate test.

This is all about money. This is modern day science.

I know from previous employment that personal or personnel files have to be kept indefinitely. This benefits the employing body more so than the employee if you think about it as records can always be destroyed. Watchtower is only doing what every organisation does as I guess accurate and proveable knowledge is power. I made this comment because I felt some may not fully appreciate this.

My story and what I'm trying to do with it

my dad was an elder my entire life and my sister a regular pioneer for most of my life, along with my mother.

ill never forget being 4 years old and staring up at the stars outside and my dad leaning over to and saying "look what jehovah made for you".

my response, "but how do you know god is real"?

Perhaps if all of us that could wrote our story, made brief videos, seized opportunities for kind and sensible anti witnessing, etc., it would make a difference somewhere. This may seem obvious but how many just let opportunities slip by. This sounds like part of a CO's talk.

We have a German born elderinthe local cong. When I was talking to him I used the term Grupen fuhrer from time to time.He always found it amusing. Once when I was annoyed in an argument with an elder I suggested he refer the matter to the elderhood.

Of recent times in Australia I have heard the term friends used more frequently, usually from the platform. Possibly its from talk outlines. Even after six months out its hard to get away from it all.

I considered Jackson. I actually like him in spite of everything. That business of the dictionary in Tuvaluan, he didn't have to do that from what I can see. May be that one of them will do a Ray Franz.

i would like to remind those folks younger than i that it was very few years ago when almost the entire planet earth was run by and for the benefit of men.women have throughout history been the property of men.due to religious restrictions, teachings, and fundamentalist doctrines, women in the largest societies on earth right now (muslim, chinese, n.korean) have almost no human rights at all.next year, in june, women will, for the 1st time, be allowed in arabia to drive---but--only if they are 30 years old or older, and for only a few hours per day!the old testament laws (read through them sometime) are horrifying reflective of prejudice toward gender, bodily cleanliness, guilt-tripping, and anonymity.

I worked with a guy who used to keep a bible on his desk. Always a bad sign. He left but kept coming back to chat with one of the female employees who used to hang her head when he was talking. In the end I asked her what was going on. She seemed relieved to tell me that his wife couldn't have children and he wanted her to have them as some sort of surrogate. I must have been naive because I remember my jaw dropping to the floor. I wanted to report him but she didn't so I resolved to deal with him myself and take the consequences. I am certainly no macho hero but I just don't like bad behaviour and I have met plenty of men who are the same as me. Alan should have been told what he was quietly and repeatedly until he understood. I turned that Jack Lemmon film clip off at the point where the button is pressed. Some people need psychiatric help was my thought at that point.

It is after 5am on Friday morning here and I have had a full night of insomnia plus my picture disappeared so this new one is me with no sleep. This is my first topic of any real significance to me on any forum on the Internet. It has been an interesting experience receiving people's thoughts from around the world and I am going to enjoy ploughing through them after some sleep. If that sounds a little silly well that is too bad lol.
