  ok not to throw no shade or no disrespect to the jw religion.

  which i truly do respect because my girlfriend is part of but i just don't understand, i have researched so much about it.

  so much about how its discouraged for her to be with me just cause of different religion.

  She would be cut off a world she only knows, and as many have said, the Psychological impact for her would be enormous and for you to. No matter how hard you both will try, it will always be in your face. She sounds a lovely lady, but the pull is so hard for some.

  How successful are others at getting ex-dubs together?

  for my first shunniversary i reached out to the local ex-dubs that i know.

  i invited 11 total to join me in a little get together at a local restaurant, then back to my house to hang out.

  one friend asked if he could invite others, and i encouraged him, and all, to do so.

  Did Crisis of Conscience find a market or did it lumber along until the copies ran out?

  curiosity.i would think c of c was the grand-daddy of all the ex-jw books.is there any way to know for sure how many copies sold?

  over what span of time before the 1st edition ended?

  why did it peter out of print if it was a perennial seller?today, every tom, dick, and jasper has self-published the bleeding wound, 1st person singular, true confessional version of their own fall from grace.

  My old congregation is gone

  went to the hall today as i was the designated driver for my parents.

  an elder who was in our old congregation in the city gave the talk.

  i've had a little chat with him and apparently our old congo is gone.

  i got thinking ,which at times can seem erratic , it's the publisher cards that should of rung the loudest bell !

  i still can't believe i fell for believing early christianity had some writing reports to the apostles.

  wt legalisms are their foundation of the church..

  meeting with elders about WT involvement in UN

  i still go to the meetings because of my in wife and it came about that the elders knew of my pissed off attitude about the society getting involved in the un.

  so the elders said they could help me get over that and wanted to meet with me.

  now just to let you know, i have only told my wife and her mom so far about it, that's it.

  I think we are being shunned

  i have not read all the discussions about the recent regional convention where the org is now ramping up the diabolical act of shunning.

  i am not sure as to which ‘category’ of persons it now applies.. my wife and i have faded over the past couple of years.

  our book-study conductor used to drop by to give us the magazines.

  The convention is happening here in Perth right now, so i am guessing there will be a lot of shunning going on soon, sad really, i have seen the scriptures they are trying to use to justify it, but you have to be blind to agree with them.

  The are looking at when all is sold over 1 billion dollars, the new location won't come to that, and that money wont go to helping the KHs either i bet..

  other government officials why jw's don't vote.
