“Expose Watchtower” - after 25 years of being a JW, I now chuckle when I hear that.
Humor me please - how long does it take for WT to be “exposed”?
Can we go back 35 years ago, when Crisis of Conscious was published? How about in 1997, when many exjws were lauding the end of Watchtower when the internet became mainstream? How about all the hundreds of ex JW books, and thousands of websites since then? What is being “exposed” in 2018, that hasn’t been “exposed” decades ago? Child abuse? Go back to 2002. Shunning? Lol. Blood transfusions? That’s been known since the 60s.
So basically all anti-JW websites read exactly the same and has been since I can remember, because they don’t expose anything, they simply recycle decades old arguments. Heck he even admitted, with his first book, that he’s going down a well trodden path.

Nothing “accusatory” about my statements. It is absolutely corrupt to charge people 150 dollars to tell their story in your book so you can afford to feed your family and take all expense paid self-promotional world tours. And what do you get in return? A man too busy with his “activism” to reply to your messages. But he is available when you want to send him money or congratulate him. Lol
But as was mentioned, these introduction videos are merely to help people adjust to living at bethel. There are going to be different rules or codes of cuduct when you’re under someone else’s roof. Just ask those who join the military, or those who live on college compus. Both have introductions on what life is like in their environment.
It’s life 101.

What makes that transaction even more fraudulent is the fact the new book will have extremely limited appeal, as it will only interest those who’ve already “escaped” WT. Those forking over the 150 will be preaching to the choir. Pretty much every Jw knows how to “escape watchtower” — stop going to meetings, and if the elders visit, ignore them or tell them to leave you alone, or formally disassociate.
So apparently, hes aiming to siphon every penny out of his loyal base.

Lol - if anyone is “fraudulently” keeping the money coming in, it’s the guy charging you *coughs* Cedars *coughs* $150 to tell your story in his book in 300 words or less, instead of him paying YOU for your story, as standard practice has it.

Remeber, Cedars is the same clown who said something to the effect that the “Remember the Wife of Lot” movie was an “anti-gay” movie, when in reality, probably about five minutes dealt with an issue surrounding the family defending their beliefs against a person with two lesbian parents who ATTACKED THEM!
The sensationalism that he is manufacturing indicates that a lot of people are being led by the nose, and more importantly, this is clearly click-bait.

Lol the video is going to be pretty dull and pretty much in line with what jws have always written/taught, as evidenced by the editing and propagandist build up to it.
It would be a shocker if they were ENCOURAGING masturbation, etc.
But since this is a video for bethelites who will live at Bethel, one should expect things to be more regulated, especially when it comes to what they understand as moral/immoral behavior.

There is really no reason to believe jws are easier “targets” via the Witnessing carts. They’ve had a public ministry for decades (instead in manning a cart, they’d simply walk the public streets and approach people). Don’t think this makes encounters more frequent, personally, because there is risk associated with that as well — if an apostate doesn’t end the conversation after being asked, he can be guilty of harrssment.
And me personally, actually enjoyed when ex-members tried to plant seeds of doubt. They outed themselves by the type of questions they asked.
But nowadays, when someone asks me about child abuse issues in the ministry, I test their sincerity and say “can I research this and get back to you”? The two times I used that question, the person said “no thank you”. Probably an apostate.
So it’s actually easier to neutralize them. Ask to schedule a follow up. Most, if not all, “apostates” will immediately decline, thus, outing themselves.
Asking Jws about the GB being “leaders” is a red flag anyway. The type of question being asked most times tells you about the person asking it. So really, you can’t fool us that way.
