No I don’t find it strange at all. The Bible clearly says that God allows secular government to make laws governing his people.
Its strange to those who never read that before.

Yeah once you prove your claims, then you can talk. The proof is severely lacking at this point.
And trying to blame the actions of adults on other adults is quite possibly the most hilarious thing I’ve ever heard.
No one can make you do anything apart from proven duress. That’s a tall hill you have to climb.

Strong arming them won’t work. Some tried it with the ARC, and the ARC was told (1) we will never abandon the Bible standard of evidence, the so called “two witness rule, (2) women will not be elders, and (3) and shunning or freedom of association is a right of free religious practice and will never be removed.
To force those be “abandoned” is a perversion of justice and will definitely infringe on religious liberty.
All Netherlands has to do make mandatory reporting law, country wide.

Yeah, sure. Then why did their lawyer suggest they hand over child abuse files? Obviously, to solicit victims and encourage them to sue in an attempt to drain them financially. This isn’t rocket science.
This has never been and will never be about protecting children of Jehovahs Witnesses.
If it were, RV would go after the parents of abused children and demand answers as to why they failed their children.
But WT has the deeper pockets, and retribution is in order.

Someone may say: “well at least we can use the media to prevent some from joining”.
So what? People haven’t joined over the course of 130 years! Others have still joined despite the media. It’s really a moot point.

Brick by brick? I don’t think so. If anything, the goal of “Reclaimed Voices” to garner as much negative media attention as humanly possible is a reflection of the failure of anti-jws to bring down the “tower”.
The only external force capable of bringing down a religion as large and as well-financed as Jws, is a government. But that hasn’t really worked, as when a government tried to collapse JWs, they only grew. So a group of bitter anti-jws certainly have no shot.
So I guess the next best thing is to use the media. But in reality, have jws EVER received positive media attention? Hardly, and if so, it was a footnote on the last page of a newspaper/internet article.
Go back to 1918 when the top directors were jailed, which didn’t break them. Go to the 40s and 50s when they lost they the flag salute case and were dogged as being “anti-American” and “communists” all over the media. Still didn’t break it. Go to 2002, when jws were being accused, all over the internet and news, for hiding child abusers. That was almost 20 years ago. Still not broken.
So what is my point? Apathy, not bad publicity, is a religion’s poison pill.
But the organization creates enthusiasm with their new meeting program, feature-length movie productions, and digital initiative. Enthusiasm is the cure for apathy.
So to successfully break the organization “brick by brick”, the membership itself has to do it, and for that to happen, they have to stop caring, which means those in charge have to stop caring first.
So 130+ years of negative publicity hasn’t worked. No reason to think it will all-of-a-sudden change in 2018.
just wondering what would happen if a brother saying a prayer in a meeting did it in the name of michael the archangel instead of closing the prayer with "jesus christ".
since jw's believe michael is jesus would he be counseled?
what if a brother used the name michael the archangel in their public talks instead of jesus?
The organization absolutely could do something to a brother who prays that way.
(1) praying on the “name” of Michael it’s not in line with the Bible
(2) The organization is under no obligation to let him pray (in other words, you have no “right” to remain a JW or to offer prayers).
That basically ends it.

If fact, if your dad is a sergeant in a police force, when he’s at home, try calling him Sergeant all day every day and then tell him that he has to keep his mouth shut and not to complain about it because you are “technically right“.

You get the point. He is called Sergeant when he is in his role of sergeant. He is called dad when he is in his role as a father.
But keep ignoring common sense
