So to directly answer you, no.
the guardian newspaper today reports that the iccsa has received “numerous” reports relating to child sexual abuse among jehovahs witness's, and it is possible they will establish an entirely separate inquiry into these reports.
the government set up the iccsa independnt inquiry into child sexual abuse some time ago and their has been a delay in the inquiry operating as thw role of chair s established.. typo in heading, sorry .

So IICSA also stated that they are not opening any new investigations, but will consider calls for one into JW’s “carefully” — meaning they are not going to be pressured or rush into it.
They are apparently being fair minded, seeing how they have been in communication with JWs since last summer.

Sorry to lay a wet blanket on your fire (well, I’m actually happy to), there was an “email IICSA” campaign last August (about 8 months ago) that opposers spread, and IICSA had basically a cookie-cutter reply of we are taking your email into “consideration”. That’s it. Not to mention a petition to IICSA that had over 3,000 signatures. Now the journalist is willing to take unconfirmed “stories”. It’s really pathetic how desperate they have become.
And IICSA has been rife with controversy and corruption since its inception, with child abuse victims even criticizing it.
The ARC surely did not result in charges being brought against any GB member nor a membership reversal, neither did the Charity Commission, and neither will this. I personally have no issue with any body doing an investigation.
it seems that irwin zalkin has obtained undisclosed settlement in the case.
the $4000 a day fine then seems to be dead.

Of course I read the comments. He seemed to be implying the GB are getting off because they aren’t being criminally prosecuted.
But there needs to be evidence of a crime first.
My bad if I misunderstood.

Sure I am all for someone settling if they want.
But the GB simply cannot go to jail because they cannot be charged with a crime someone else committed.
Thats like saying your boss can be thrown in jail because one of his employees robs a bank. It’s quite a silly thing to even entertain.
Unless the GB specifically tells elders “do not report even when mandated by law” then nothing criminally can happen to them.

Sanchey,
No, I don’t run ANY webpage. My display name is merely a pseudonym, if that’s what you are trying to connect.

How are “digitally loaded meetings” (whatever that means) taking their toll when they are barely two years old?
We LIVE in a digital world, so it something we have all grown used to. Heck, the DVD is even soon to be archaic as the demand for downloadable movies has grown.
The response the GB has gotten is overwhelmingly supportive of the JWB monthly programs (which are digital and the reason why they green-lit its translation into more languages).
I seriously believe you are talking out of your arse.

I did get quite the chuckle from some in the ex-JW community who have claimed over the past several years to keep “in contact” with Zalkin about these cases implying that they have some sort of relationship with him, yet, they had no idea he settled these two cases until that Sandiego paper published those settlements, several weeks after the settlements were reached. In other words, they found out at the same time the rest of the world found out... and not a second before.
As much as I dislike Zalkin because of his sudden disappearing acts when his cases are dropped or settled, the man is far from stupid and is very self aware.
He will be more than happy to give interviews on ex-JW outlets, give them quotes, respond to emails etc, when he’s TRYING TO GAIN PUBLICITY for his cases (obviously to lure victims into contacting his offices so he can talk them into suing).
Then he’s stonewalls everyone after that, including these so called “friends” and “contacts” of his.

Never a JW “people are leaving slowly”.
So what? People DO leave, and people join. Some of those who left come back. So the issue is not binary.

I got the 3 billion based off estimating if each JW gave about 2 percent of their income in donations, it would easily be over a billion a year (some give more, some gives less). Combine that with the money not being spend on printing and it comes to be a pretty decent windfall there as printing is a massive expense.
Of course I don’t know for sure so it’s a lot of guesswork on my part.
