You’re stating the obvious, but before you were ambiguous, and apparently, you weren’t talking about those reasons before as it seem to be more about attributing motives to the change.
Anyway, its and bad financial and environmental management to keep printing in this day and age.
And when the government attempts to tax them for something they were not doing (selling literature), it was reasonable to make it donation based only, as the intent was clearly to help pay for printing costs, not to make a profit.

I just wanted to chime in on this: you don’t have to apologize for something you are not guilty of. The pope is apologizing because the RCC time and time again, admitted that it’s leaders hide abuse and shifted pedophile priests. To date, they do not deny that they are responsible for it. Secondly, the vast majority of abusers on the RCC were priests, and their abuse was done during their duties as priests (meaning, in the church).
This is really in stark contrast with JW’s, where the vast majority of child abuse is done by non-elder family members, in the home. Why should the gb apologize for the crimes members commit outside of the Hall?
Should an employer “apologize” to a bank because one of its employees decided to rob it?
So trying to compare an institution that admits it fostered an environment that permitted child abuse to one that didn’t foster such an environment is really asinine.

lol — I don’t need “inside information”. One just needs to be observant to connect the dots, divorced from biased and wishful thinking (i.e the organization is “going broke”).
Technology is expensive, especially on this scale. Broke organizations simply cannot afford this sort of overhaul.

Ok Morpheus that’s fair. In the context of our initial bethel discussion, I did not know that’s where you were going.
That’s why I said that those thinking these moves they made indicates a financial collapse were dreaming. Now i wouldn’t go as far and say the previous business model made no sense because from 2001-2012, they were doing well, but made changes from 2013-17. I’d say these changes simply allow them to withstand economic collapses and political upheavals.

You have not proved that these alleged “financial troubles” even exists, so you are just buttressing your allegations with the excuse that it will be a “decades long” process.
And please, save the closing of branches talk and reduction in printing as evidence, because a new HQ was built from ground up and the organization has be digitally overhauled (a massive expenditure).
No, it does not take an unspecified amount of “decades” for a financially crumbling institution to fall. If it lasts “decades” more then it’s doing pretty well NOW.
Apathy will kill jws far faster than negative media. Why? Because they expect negative media. They expect people to tell lies. They know they are widely unpopular and disliked regardless of the accusation. If anything, negative media just affirms what they come to expect.
You would have to get them to stop caring. Best of luck there!
