  Who knows why it flopped. I won’t pretend to know. But the fact is that flopped as it relates to the teaser.

  It was meant, and edited, for parody. That much was obvious. People got their laughter in and didnt bother with the actual “rebuttal” for whatever reason. Or the ones that did sit through the “rebuttal” were the same ones who clicked the trailer several times each (which will mask the actual number of unique views). Who knows.

  And the fact that articles from decades ago were referenced by the speakers means the video is in line with what they’ve believed for years, generally speaking.

  So there was nothing really “shocking” there — just a build up with a click-bait teaser.

  We call that a “box office flop”.

  Probably because the teaser was intentionally misleading.

  No, dubstepped — you got ticked off when I dropped the issue right into your backyard — the issue about you being just as “culty” or “controlling” if your house rules are more strick than others.

  The point in that comparison was to expose the flaw in your thinking big enough to drive a tractor through.

  You didn’t like being forced to think critically about what you said, so you lashed out. That is a FACT.

  Well, thanks Peno for at least having the willingness to reply to the actual question.

  Honestly, I absolutely agree that there are links with being told gay is wrong and depression and suicide, but then it becomes a matter of how suicide correlates religious views on homosexuality. It’s not an issue of control at that point.

  But it’s simply a term that’s been loosely thrown around to scare people and strike fear into them.

  But the fact is that the infantile personal attacks are a result of me forcing people to challenge their own assumptions and analyze their own thinking and conclusions, but since they don’t want to, they lash out.

  Stuck - simply parroting and doubling-down on your position doesn’t make it true.

  I just want former “cult” members to actually show what they mean. Rules in and of themselves do not imply control. Enforcing those rules do imply control on a behavioral level, which every civilized society does. But that’s not what you are referring to.

  So that’s what I want to know. What exactly do you mean and how is it done?

  And for the record, people can tell you what to do and not be controlling you or necessarily be a controlling person. What constitutes involuntary control, the type of control implied, is a means or mechanism of involuntary control.

  Its this point that no one has ever been to answer or demonstrate in reality and show how it exists.

  How are they “controlled”? The mere existence of rules does not mean you are controlled — we have laws in this country and those laws are enforced, but you would surely agree the government doesn’t control you — so there must be some mechanism in place that you can point to.

  So I would like you to explain how are bethelites controlled.
