If fact, if your dad is a sergeant in a police force, when he’s at home, try calling him Sergeant all day every day and then tell him that he has to keep his mouth shut and not to complain about it because you are “technically right“.

You get the point. He is called Sergeant when he is in his role of sergeant. He is called dad when he is in his role as a father.

If your dad is a sergeant of a police force, you don’t call him “sergeant” when he’s off work at home do you? You call him dad at home. You address him “sergeant” at work.
In fact, he wouldn’t want you to Calling him Sergeant at home. Same thing with Jesus and Michael.

It wouldn’t be accurate jw teaching to say Michael in a prayer. Jesus Christ is used to recognize his role as Ransomer and redeemer. He’s not such as Michael in heaven, as he is a warrior in that role, not a Ransomer.

And WT is not redefining a word. What they’ve done is date “this generation” from 1914 to at least 1992, in theory.
Car manufacturers do that all the time. They’ll place a fourth generation car, for example, between 1990-1995 and any car built in that time period is a fourth gen car.
It can lasts an long as their is at least 1 fourth gen car being driven. Once the last one is off the road, it can be said to be gone.

Like I just said, generations lasts when people outlive other members of that generation.
Actually, the words “overlapping” and “contemporaries” are not necessary to establish the fact that generations lasts despite the death of the initial members.
This is fairly easy stuff. Factual stuff to boot.

The word “overlapping” or “contempory” is a mere descriptior.
The Millenial generation will still be alive well after us older original millennials are dead.
