It was out before I had chance to think about it - one of those speak first think later moments. I probably wouldn't have said it had I thought about it.
Sometimes though I think they have absolutely no comprehension of what they are praying for.
so yesterday my mom had be update her tablet and the jw library app (she is technologically challenged).
after i did, she told me if i knew how to get the jw chanel on tv.
(i assume she meant those weird videos the gb has been releasing).

Oh, it is so easy to keep pushing and give them that one final flippant remark.
However, no one ever woke up by being pushed too far. There's a fine line to try to stay at for maximum benefit.
But, I feel you!
That is so true but sometimes it's difficult to help yourself.hi guys - new poster here.
i was brought up a jw in the uk and stopped going not long after i was married.
that was 20 years ago so i'm not really up to date with the current doctrinal flip flops or the new youtube obsessed gb.. came across this site while googling the name of a local elder who's just been convicted of possesion of a pc full of unpleasant pics of kids.. so, my question.
Pat on the back? Lol, I've not gone for the last twenty years, haven't given it a thought for the last nineteen. Just came across this place by chance.
I am surprised at the difficulty people seem to have in stopping going, maybe it's different now. I'm certainly not up to date anymore and these sites didn't exist when we stopped going.
Anyway, I don't think this place is for me. It's a part of my life that has long since past and nothing good is going to come from dredging it up again.
it appears I've struck a nerve with a couple of you and for that I apologise. I hope you find the strength to be where you want to be.

we let the qualified buyers participate in a competitive bidding process and see where the market goes with it, devine told the eagle.. doesn't this logic reflect the same expectation of gambling or buying a lottery ticket?
you don't know if you are going to win big or if you're just going to come out even or lose your $1 investment.. how do they know there's not going to be another market or housing crash the next day and get pennies for their properties?.
how can they honestly say: "...see where the market goes with it" and at the same time condone other for playing lottery tickets or gambling or leaving things to chance like not getting higher education.
Think about the energy costs to keep all of those buildings with electricity, the cost of maintenance an so on and it becomes easier to understand why the WTS wanted to move out of that area, simply too expensive to operate.
I think that about sums it up - along with the reduced need for printing.
And remember that they aren't actually making money from the sale as such - unsold the buildings are still on the balance sheet.

Sorry, didn't realise answering your question was compulsory, but seeing as you asked twice ;)
If someone is doing something they don't want to do and being somewhere they don't want to be then that pretty much fulfils my definition of not being true to yourself as you're trying to keep on the right side of other people by modifying your own behaviour. Your definition may be different.
However, I do understand people's reason for doing it.
People have to find their own way through their issues and I'm certainly in no position to judge the way in which they do it.

No judgement given or intended, it was simply a question and an observation.
Good luck to those trying to fade quietly away - hope it's as painless as possible.
Not that far away - I know a lot of people from Ch-Le-St, Washington areas - well, late 80s early 90s anyway.
