Religious Liberty EO
by Richard Oliver inwhat does everyone think of the new executive order on religious liberty?
this would include a weakening of the johnson amendment so churches will be freer to either contribute to political campaigns and/or promote a candidate from the pulpit.

Site Updates
by Simon injust a heads-up that i will be testing some updates this evening.. the nature of the changes means it's difficult to test every scenario in advance offline (translation: it's a lot more effort and i just can't be bothered) so i'm going to go with the "wing-it" approach:.
deploy, check for errors, try to fix errors before anyone else notices them.. i can switch between the new and old version pretty quickly so if there are significant issues, i'll rollback and revert the changes while i work on the fixes.
worse case is the pages won't display quite right (dates might be a giveaway) but a full page refresh should fix things.. http://www.refreshyourcache.com/en/home/.

Not sure if you've changed something but it's worked after a few refreshes.
No comment box when you choose a topic from the 'latest' view.
Comment box ok when you choose a topic from the main headings.

usually slaughtered and brushed aside. What they were able to achieve was in no small measure due to the system they were up against being ready and willing to change and just needing some focus to show it to be true.
I think there's a fair amount of truth in that. People can be a catalyst for change, but that change has to be viable and ready to happen
Someone more famous than me said revolutions are the locomotives of history and although one man can spark a revolution he can't drive it through.

UK JWs go up 72 places in latest 2017 Charity 250 Index (2nd highest climbers)
by darkspilver ini'm not really sure what this charity 250 index is trying to do.
partly because i'd expect a few big household name charities to be on it at the top.
i've copied the table below - see positions 19 (up from 70) and 130 (up from 202).

My JW Family: Look at that chart - truly evidence that jehovah is blessing us.
Me: It's evidence that he's blessing the mormons more.

Soon will be no choice but to invade North Korea.
by Witness 007 inthere is no way in hell that these brainwashed fools will cease making nukes.
their doctrines are based on "death to america"..."never surrender" they are much more messed up then iran!
war will be the final solution..

It will never be a ground war - if anything it will be an air strike against his s missile bases.
I do agree though. MAD, for all its, err, madness, has kept the world relatively stable for the last 60 years.
The trouble is, KJI is not predictable in the way the Russians were. Him launching a preemptive nuclear strike is perhaps a leap too far but it can't be dismissed.

RUMOUR - Regarding future memorials
by Listener ini heard this on the youtube channel - bad jw round table discussions and i normally don't give much thought to rumours, i did find this one interesting.one of the guys on the channel said that there are plans that 'the other sheep' will be told not to attend any future memorials.he was asked how credible was this and he said that it is talk going around by those in the know, just like there had been those that knew about the fairly recent new edition of the bible being in production.even if this is probably just a rumour, the idea has a lot of merit.
the benefits for the organization outweigh the negatives and would fit in with their current direction.here are some of the benefits, for the org.
that could come from it- the biggest benefit would come from not having to accommodate so many attendants, which are more than double a normal meeting.

With the increase in the number of those partaking over the last few years there'll be no room for the great crowd anyway!
