I think it was James May that got the sack from a motoring magazine by starting each sentence with a letter that when read together said 'This car is a pile of shit'

Evolution is a Fact #14 - Joey Goes to Oz
by cofty inaustralia is home to 223 species of marsupial.. lacking a womb our mammalian cousins give birth to their young at a very early stage of development and then nurse them to maturity.
female marsupials also have 3 vaginas but that is another thread.. the earliest fossils of marsupials are not to be found in australia however but in north america 80 million years ago.
their journey can be followed south all the way to the tip of south america 40 million years ago and then they suddenly turn up in australia 30 million years ago.. so where were joey's ancestors during the missing 10 million years and how did they manage to get to australia?.

Cofty puts up a serious and informative post and we snigger like a couple of schoolboys about the two vaginas.

Good news to report: Congregations merged because lack of attendance, publishers & field service
by Khaleesi inso it's official, i am happy to report that we merged with another congregation having the same problem.
why is it good news???
because people are either waking up, fading or just not buying into this organization any longer or walking away.... i think many young ones are just not buying into it as much, i see many in the congregation i go to very depressed and some i know personally going thru major depression especially the young "sisters" in their early 20s.... .

Once merged the hall and land can be sold. What happens to the money, does it stay with the cong or go straight to the society's coffers? -

In UK around 15 or so years ago all BOEs were instructed to destroy all notes concerning any JC and only record the result on a form, relating to the UK Data Protection laws and rights of individual to have a copy of any Information held on file concerning them.
Elders instructed to have NO personal notes and to destroy any they held. Not a change then as a result of any child abuse issues but data protection. You're pissing in the wind mate - most on here seem determined to see conspiracy at every turn.

I remember reading this and thought it was a bit clever
Another interesting fact about the mother kangaroo is that she is able to suckle two joeys at different developmental stages at the same time with milk that has different nutritional content, the New York Times has reported.

Is the Reachout Trust about to fold its tent for good?
by slimboyfat inas for a few others here, i know the reachout trust in the uk played a part in my mental journey away from the jws.
i get the reachout newsletter by email and the last few mentioned that they are scaling back their operations because of financial shortfall and that doug is no longer taking a wage.
i also wonder whether mike and ann thomas are no longer associated with the reachout trust because i can't find mention of them anywhere of the website.

Dougs comment about " not being religious" really couldn't be further from the truth as I have first hand testimonies from friends who dared disagree with Doug on small doctrinal issues,
I have no experience of them at all and wasn't going to comment, but the latter part of point 1 and points 2 and 3 did seem to contradict the first part of point 1 ........

Landy they already think that of me since I was an active jw with all its baggage when my son first went into the hospital. I have nowhere to go but up from here.
Well, now's your chance to show them that you're over it and in the land of the normal person. Launching in to lengthy discourses about blood management will make him think you're lurching from one crazy opinion to another.
If you decide to go ahead, don't be surprised if he just smiles sweetly and guides you toward the door.
Excellent news about your son - I wish him and you all the best. -

Don't start giving 'presentations' to a doctor - he'll just think you're a sandwich short of a picnic.
Just thank him and go and enjoy life with your son. I can absolutely guarantee that's all he expects of you.

SW - I haven't read the rest of the thread so may be repeating others but just thank them very kindly for their offer of a meeting but you're ok at the moment. Tell them you know where they are if you need them.
Don't get drawn in to debate, express doubts, challenge doctrine or any of that shit. Just keep your head down and your mouth shut and they'll stop bothering you.
They need a reason to form a JC - don't give them one.
Good luck!
