Another thing I remember now. It says when women reach 35 they begin to habitually conceal their age in online dating profiles. The reason they do this is because many/most men routinely filter out women over 35, but when they are "tricked" into meeting an older woman many men "settle" for the older woman in real life. It also said that women who conceal their age are much pickier than those who don't. Plus women unwittingly give away their own age when specifying which men they are interested in meeting. A woman who is interested in meeting men who are aged 40 to 55 for example are 99 times out of 100 aged at the starting end of the range themselves - about 40 - regardless of what they've said about their age elsewhere.

it was explained to me that it was an immoral show because a man and women lived together and no one was married.
the sister who gave this observation was a family friend and we were newbies to the religion.. at least i somehow managed to watch the benny hill show undetected..

according to ussher god made the earth at 6pm on the evening of saturday 22nd october 4004 b.c.. this naive certainty was to become a victim of the scottish enlightenment and the brilliant mind of james hutton.
having qualified as a medical doctor in 1749 hutton returned to the family farm in berwickshire not far from where i am typing this now.

I don't have all the answers. Science doesn't have all the answers. Lots of science's answers create more questions. That is A Good Thing. I'm quiet happy to accept that we don't have all the answers yet. You're quite happy to ascribe the unknowns to God.
If you'd lived a thousand years ago you'd be out sacrificing goats so the the rain god will allow rain to feed your crops. In another thousand years people will look back on current day believers in tne same way we look on those who worshipped in ignorance a thousand years ago.

All JWs need to watch this great documentary...it may give them pause for thought.
by deanxxx ini know how hard it is to awaken people still inside the cult bubble.
there are many reasons for this, chief among them the unwillingness to read or watch anything critical of their religion.
on the other hand, jws love few things more than hearing bad stuff about other faith groups.

Anyway, like Simon said who cares what intellectual believes in God. It adds no weight to the argument.
According to a survey done (can't remember who or when) of the Royal Insitute there's a hell of a lot more don't believe than there is that believe, less than 5% iirc. And virtually no scientists in the biological fields.
