  "In the previous four years (starting in 2010), twenty-five Jehovah’s Witness ministers were convicted of child molestation charges in the UK." Worldwide there are an average of 8,132,358 publishers. In the UK there are an average of 134,517 publishers - ie 60 times the number. 60 x 25 convictions = 1,500 divide by four years = 375-a-year-worldwide - ie effectively just over ONE conviction-per-day.

  That's an ambitious extrapolation there. It would be interesting to compare that against the mean for the general population

  BTW, just because it isn't a court, doesn't mean it has no authority.)

  And what authority does the ARC have? AFAIK (and I could be wrong) it can only make recommendations which organisations and governments are free to ignore.

  It can compel people to attend as witnesses under fear of a fine but that's where their power pretty much stops.

  heir name is at stake along with all the counter lawsuits that the Watchtower is now you can be sure hitting them with.

  What are you talking about? Why would the WTS be hitting the law firm with lawsuits for putting an advert in the paper?

  If the advert brings forward any likely cases then the company msy consider putting a case together to sue the WTS, either as individual cases or a class action.

  Unfortunately Richard has been correct n everything he said - any case that tries to show the WTS has been guilty of enabling or being complicit in any child abuse is going to be very difficult to prove.

  With luck it may be possible in some cases but these will be very few and far between.

  The ad is simply a fishing expedition to see what it throws up.

  If you've been abused then I hope you can get professional help and I wish you all the best with that.

  Yes Richard I did, I hold then everything, I read them your posts. They said they know what they are doing but they are worried about you and your how upset you are sounding.

  You sound so worked up. They want you to call so they can put your mind to ease.

  Just call them instead of debating us,it's not doing you any ggod.

  Again we didn't place the ad's they did. We were merely saying what we hope might happen and you came on trying to scare people into believing this is a lost cause, an uphill battle, it will take years if it ever work's. You are afraid for the victims that they are going to use cases that the victims are fragile, just so they can win big cases. That post of yours they really want to talk to you about.

  They do not want to hurt anyone especially the victims and for you to indicate that they would they really want you to call so they can asure you that is not their intention.

  WTF? I think you're the one that needs help - that's more than a little creepy.

  is it just me who doesnt see the point of this ?

  from time to time we see some individual who takes up page after page arguing his or her point of view and it usually ends up with only 2 or 3 individuals who keep the talkfest going with a particular individual and nobodys getting anything out of it .. why bother ?

  why get sucked in to such a pointless dialogue ?
