  Date of Adam's "Creation?

  how do jws resolve these conflicting facts.. 1. no matter how you spin it, bible chronology calculates to circa 4000 bc for adam's creation.

  i followed the trail many years ago and that's what it adds up to.. 2. the most cursory investigation of any branch of relevant science puts man's habitation on the earth as hugely earlier than that.

  it's now so well-proved that anyone disputing it is guilty of wilful ignorance.

  I mean, if God wanted mankind to know the date of the creation of the first man, He could have made that much clearer in Genesis. That would've had the additional benefit of giving the whole world a basis for a starting calendar year. January 1, 1 would be the year humanity came into existence. I think it's a pretty good starting point.
  (I know, I know... he wouldn't have named it January. Maybe he could have improved on the names of months, too!)

  While God was at it, he could have made the earth go around the sun evenly. Instead of 365.25 days, he could have made it an even number. It is almost as if things just came to be without the direct influence of a god.

  and the end times.

  a small problem with that is ww1 started on july 28th 1914 whilst satan was still in heaven picking his nose.. how did we not see this and waste years of precious life?

  Nonsense. Jesus would have known the exact year that Jerusalem fell in King Zedekiah's 11th year and King Nebuchadnezzer's 18th year which in our modern calendar not used in Jesus' day is properly calculated as 607 BCE

  There isn't a single scholar that would suggest 607 as the date of Jerusalem's destruction. My guess is your screen name is meant to be ironic.

  Unemployment sucks, but I seriously doubt Tibor is making that good of a wage from Lloyd. Hopefully Tibor gets plenty of "Tibor Is Gracious" t-shirts as severance.

  Now the question becomes, does Lloyd stay above 380 patrons? I think it is possible to lose at least another 160 patrons by the end of the year. Not that his videos were all that exciting to begin with, but my understanding is, they have lost whatever it was that kept people watching. Rebuttals and advise simply get too repetitive and unless he can build a new network of insiders, he would have to watch other channels and troll reddit for any news. There certainly won't be any "Bottlegate" or "Pillowgate" videos.

  Why do you think Jesus couldn't predict 1914 based on Daniel 4?

  Jesus would have known that Jerusalem wasn't destroyed by Babylon in 607 BCE. Having witnessed the events as an angel, he would have known the exact day.

  what all these bible readers miss is, that Jesus was already in his kingdom in the first century. Colossians 1:13, an colossal oversight.

  Then I the question becomes, does Jesus rule for 1000 years or does he rule for eternity? According to Watchtower, he rules for 1000 years and then hands the kingdom back over to Jehovah. According to just about all other Christians, Jesus simply is God and King.

  Personally I don't take much of the bible literally, so the 1000 years could be a metaphor that does not translate in modern language.

  How is the 'Cost of Living Crisis' affecting you?

  here in the uk we've recently had the price cap on household energy bills raised by around £800 and there'll be another similar raise this autumn.. food prices are up, petrol is around £1.82 per litre - that's $10.37 per gallon for our american friends - and inflation is currently running at 9%.

  business are being hit as ordinary folk prioritise their spending.

  young folks are effectively priced out of the housing market and wage rises are not keeping pace.. mrs nic' and i are fortunate in that we're both in secure employment and with the kids moved out and mortgage paid off our outgoings are thankfully low.

  Thing are getting so crazy for me, that I just bought a 125cc motorcycle for commuting. I had to take a loan to finish paying for the roof my house needs that I spent the last 2 years saving for. If I keep waiting the price will go up faster than I can save. The frustration is real.

  Let's pretend Watchtower has some of this correct. Jesus dies and after a few days of proving to his followers he is alive, returns to Heaven. Jesus then spends the next 1881 years preparing a place for his followers to join him while Satan is hanging around. Why would that be allowed to happen? Is the eviction process in Heaven that time consuming?
