Now Even JW Men Are Going To Die At The Big A
by OneFingerSalute inso this weekend there was a part about not following jesus at a distance.
the speaker made a big point of stating that any baptized jw male who was not either appointed ms/elder, or at the very least "reaching out" actively, was in fact following jesus at a distance.
he said that the only way to live through the big a was to follow jesus closely.

if the GB stuck to the qualifications listed in the 1Tim 3 and Titus 1 then more 'would' qualify.
True enough. Actually there isn't a baptized male that wouldn't qualify IF those Bible qualifications alone were strictly, and consistently adhered too. It is the imperfect humans who go beyond what is written in their personal interpretations of those scriptures that twist them into something that many males will never meet.

But hey , raising kids ,doing the housework ,food shopping ,doing the clothes washing
It wasn't said in so many words, but they went on about the birds of the field and the lilies in one part with the very strong admonition to just do more in the serve us, more study, and Jehovah would do the rest. After all Jesus said God took care of the birds, and the flowers were clothed more impressively than Solomon. Then he said something that made me think WTF again. He said Jesus chose to give up his carpentry work and become Messiah. And here all along I thought he was prophesied to be the Messiah ahead of time, and not that he made that choice as a human. Silly me!

Did they actually say that anyone not "reaching out" was going to lose their salvation?
No, they didn't say, "If you don't reach out you lose your salvation." That would have been too obvious. The bro giving the part said that many loved Jesus but would not become his followers, choosing to follow him from a distance. He then went on about how some today love Jesus but follow from a distance. And then drew the comparison to "reaching out". I do wish I had his exact words recorded, but. . .
He said those who followed Jesus at a distance then lost the chance at life, and today those who do not follow Jesus closely, but rather at a distance also will lose out on everlasting life. Then he said that baptized males who held back from "reaching out" for MS/Elder were in effect loving Jesus, but following at a distance.
The inference was plain for anyone to see, unless they are blindly following the governing body.

I wish you had a recording of that manure.
I also wish I had what he said recorded. I just couldn't handle sitting there closely listening to everything, but when he said this I really perked up.
Of course I did manage to take a few brief notes as things were said that made me think WTF. I will try to share a few over the next few days either on this thread or others that I won't be hijacking by making those comments.

So this weekend there was a part about not following Jesus at a distance. The speaker made a big point of stating that ANY baptized JW male who was not either appointed MS/Elder, or at the very least "reaching out" actively, was in fact following Jesus at a distance. He said that the only way to live through the Big A was to follow Jesus closely. And just like those old time Jews who only followed Jesus at a distance lost out on life, so too would any today who profess to follow Jesus, but do so at a distance.
So there you have it guys. If you are not, or do not want to be, either a MS or elder, and are not engaging in active crack kissing you are going to die at Armageddon.

Just heard the EXACT SAME experience this weekend. Just different names. Even the wording was the same. Likely just another lie. -

Suggested comment to add when answering at the meetings
by stuckinarut2 ininspired by the humour in cappytan's thread, i thought of a way those who are still forced to attend meetings can have some fun.... especially with the increase in articles with topics about "listen, obey and be blessed", a subtle method of having fun would be to substitute the expression "the governing body" wherever "jehovah" "jesus" is said.. imagine an answer such as this:.
"yes, this paragraph helps us to see how vital it is to listen and obey the governing body".
"yes, our strict obedience to the governing body is a way to show how much we love them".

Great idea stuck.
I have been using the term "members of the governing body" wherever the WT uses fds. I recently got reprimanded for that. the eldurr said that Jesus called them the faithful slave, not governing body.

What kingdom do the sheep inherit?
by scotoma inonce again jehovah has decided to light a candle so jw's can see where they are going.. they went to great lengths to explain that feeding the hungry anointed, thirsty anointed, giving them clothing, housing and visiting them in jail means the preaching work (distributing literature).. this is indeed noble when you consider that the right-hand sheep do this not even knowing who they are helping.. if the sheep are oblivious of who they are helping they must not recognize these "least" ones as christs brothers.. and what is their reward for unknowingly, blindly helping christs brothers?
they inherit the kingdom that was prepared for them from the founding of the world.
the new-lighters conspicuously avoid explaining what kingdom they inherit and how they inherit it.. do they inherit the kingdom that flesh and blood can't inherit.

Parable: a usually short fictitious story that illustrates a moral attitude or a religious principle.
Prophecy: the inspired declaration of divine will and purpose.
Illustration: a picture or diagram that helps make something clear.
So the WTB&T$ throughout these articles called these stories alternately illustrations and parables (which are two completely different things) and applied them as if they were prophecy.
As for sheep and goats, if it is an illustration, then it is simply a word picture to make clear that to be a sheep one should show the qualities of those who go to Christ's right hand. It cannot, by the WT own words, be a prophecy as they stated the sheep and goats were not literal. And it also cannot be a parable as then the story would be fictitious. (Of course we all know it is)
