  Hypothetical Question...

  i was just thinking that the org has said lots of outrageous things over it's history and most jws just continue onward without a second thought.

  so my question is what do you think would have to be said from the platform or wt to get people to get up and walk out immediately?

  is it even possible?

  so ofs got to comment again this morning and thought the comment might bring a smile to someone.the second half question on par.

  15 was, "we cannot actually see jesus, sohow can we look intently at him?".

  ofs commented, "of course, we cannot literally see jesus as peter did.

  OFS commented, "Of course, we cannot literally see Jesus as Peter did. But Geoff Jackson described the governing body as Guardians Of Doctrine, and today we DO HAVE J Double You Dot Org and the J Double You TV where we can see and hear the governing body as they relay to us the faith strengthening words of the Guardians Of Doctrine."

  And of course as always the heads were bobbing up and down like kids at the apple barrel on Halloween. Am I taking too many chances?

  apparently, it's good news, everybody - mohammed emwazi (aka jihadi john) has been targeted by a us drone strike.

  the location was in raqqa, syria, a few yards from isis hq, near a clock tower where crucifixions are carried out.

  there are conflicting reports, some say he died instantly at 11:40pm yesterday, others say that he was badly injured and taken to a nearby hospital.. from what i've previously read about emwazi, he was apparently terrified of being targeted by drones - yesterday it seems his nightmare was made reality.

  I am not sad at all that some evil asshole got hit by a drone strike.

  People who would disagree with this statement likely would sit around and let a rabid dog bite them, and get angry at anyone who tried to put the rabid dog down.

  Are Jehovah's Witnesses marriages even legit?

  i ask this because of the circumstances behind why they get married and who they get married by.

  i know people say that they are really in love, they love jehovah, etc, but are these marriages even legit.

  i've talked to older jw's sister who are now widowed, some of them say that they were trapped in a marriages.

  this is evident with letting go of " volunteer" bethalites throughout the world.

  but my thread is on the consequences to the individual, and the organisation of letting " volunteer" bethalites go.. so what happens to the captive mind of the former bethalite when they are let go from bethel?

  How does one genuinely train for disaster survival when wearing inappropriate clothing?

  Well the JDubya's always say that full dress clothes are the only appropriate clothing for "true" christians no matter what they are doing. The thing I wonder about is who is going to be carrying those "go bags"? Even government web-sites give good ideas of what to pack, and those suggested items would never fill all the room those silly JDubya's will be hefting around. I'd be damned if I would help them cart all that weight.

  a new category entitled “Video Showings” will be used to report the number of times we were able to show one of our videos in the ministry.
  

  So now the eldurrs will have another reason to question the "spirituality" of the sheeple.

  "What do you mean brother poorer-than-dirt not showing the required number of videos? You need to purchase one of the approved tablets. Gee-HO-Vah will provide for your material needs until you get done paying for it!"

  just let me say, i hate the gray bible.

  when i read the revision of mal 3:10 and they included tithing, i almost vomited.

  recently though, my invalid mother asked me to read to her and the only thing available was the gray bible.

  Matthew 23: 36 is another one that the cross references were "abbreviated". Previously it crossed to Exodus 20: 5 where it speaks of, "fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation." The grey Bible has removed it entirely. Can't have the Bible contradicting what the GB say makes up a generation, now can we?
