  LongHair - I get that for sure.

  But remember those really in today are so averse to looking into anything outside the WT for information.

  The fear campaign is higher than ever.

  Then you have lots of people who cant accept that their entire life course could be challenged, so cognitive dissidence sets in and they are living with that.

  For so many its TOO painful to open the door even a crack, because the fear that their whole world would crumble.

  I was not to far away from that myself when I started to wakeup.

  Remember we were victims as are most JWs today.

  There has been a dramatic change from that time to now.

  Anyway coming back from my blunder?

  my oldest boy got pissed that i started going back to meetings so i had one last conversation with him as he moved out.

  (only went back to try and not loose whole family) during the conversation things got a bit heated and i mentioned a couple of false prophecies in the bible the rest of family heard so now they think i don’t believe at all.

  guess their right think my going back was just a ruse, yes that’s true to.

  I dont agree with that at all.

  In my experience, the majority brothers want to be an elders. Most want to be looked up to, or want to not be left behind by the brothers around their own age or siblings who are already elders.

  THERE WILL NEVER be a shortage of males who want power.

  And Fulano is right - this is not new, been in the book for a long time.

  What was the retirement plans you heard brothers talk about if any

  i know some would not think about retirement.

  i had one brother who would pioneer as he could afford and when he paid off his home he was about to collect social security.

  he made enough that his plan was to work two to three days a week and pioneer the rest of the week.

  I saved almost nothing, because the WT said we dont need to. Jah provides.
  And I spent my life as an UBER JW.

  So now I am in my 50s in debt and with 2 kids getting really close to college aged.

  I am 100% totally fucked.
