It's just a H. HuB denotes "Headquarters unifying branches" and the "pillars" merely sorta come together to a common central point, forming a H. That's all it is. Nothing else.

My mom was never a pioneer. She was too busy doing the right thing and raising us kids. I remember when we'd go to gatherings, the really uber witnesses would ask her things like, "Are you pioneering?" (although most of them knew she wasn't). They loved to put non-pioneers on the spot. Witnesses confuse peer pressure with encouragement. Some others would say, "We just can't wait for you to pioneer" or "Pioneering is such a blessing". Mom got fed up once and asked another pioneer sister what were these "blessings". She was like, "Well, you get to attend pioneer school". And mom goes, "Is that school based on the Bible? " "Of course! " "So you're not learning anything new. The GB probably feels you pioneers don't really spend time in personal study so they have to set aside and entire two weeks for study. Me, I read my Bible every day and I have a good relationship with Jehovah. And I don't need a title to prove my relationship with Jehovah or my self worth. " That was the last time I heard pioneers in my congregation try to take a dig at mom. At least in public. Of course we were not invited to gatherings as often as before!

They've bought apartments and a office floor in a gated community. The community name is Brigade Orchards in Bangalore. It lies behind the airport. I have the letter with me and I'll post the gist of it in a while. BTW, the contributions received in India went up by 30% last year (according to the letter).

Rubadub, good question. Well, this law has actually been used and although it's been around for a while, many actually found out about it because of a family that faced social boycott from their community because of opposing virginity tests.

Being a black sheep is a whole different scenario. The social boycott law applies to when there is a formal announcement or resolution made to exclude a person from a community. So if the congregation was to announce that someone was no longer a JW and that led to shunning, or if there was no announcement but word got around and a person was shunned, or if there was a marking talk and a person was shunned. the congregation could be taken to court. The only proof that the courts require is that this is indeed shunning resulting from religious rules and there is ample evidence in the WT's videos and publications.
A lawyer I spoke to said that there have been numerous other cases filed (apart from the one in the link), but none have come to the attention of the media until now. It takes activism for the media to pick up a case, and I'm sure that if exJWs go to court, the media is going to gobble up the news. From the short while I've been in India I've learned that if you want courts to move fast and if you want a case resolved, take the media with you to the police station and have them follow your case. It's funny how fast people work when there's a journalist in the picture.

i see this as a subtle move away from earlier claims to be channel for spiritual food.
the gb earlier said that they weren't inspired or infallible.

I see this as a subtle move away from earlier claims to be channel for spiritual food. The GB earlier said that they weren't inspired or infallible. Now they say that Jehovah's spirit moves there to provide food. So logically they're saying that the spirit just motivates them and doesn't speak through them, thereby nullifying earlier claims of them being the John class.
I wonder where this subtle shift in statements is going to lead.

Serious Problems Between Elders
by ZindagiNaMilegiDobaara inever encountered or eyewitnessed problems escalating, arguements and rows between elders right at the kh anyone?.
one such experience was just before the meeting was about to start,we heard raised voices from the second room between two elders.
a minute later two other elders went into the room and we could all hear that they were trying to cool the situation down with whatever was going on in there.

Where I grew up, I saw elders come to blows outside the hall while the meeting was in progress. The r&f didn't know what was going on. I found out because I was a curious 5 year old who suddenly found her daddy missing and sneaked away to find him. And I found him held back by two "brothers" while one was getting ready to hit him. I later found out that was because dad was the circuit account servant and had found irregularities in the books. And those were the brothers fudging the numbers.
