i thought i would post an encouraging experience i found today.

i've been seeing a lot of 70-80 year old jws waking up, and their children are posting their experience on reddit.

these are old elders, pioneers, circuit overseers who have given their everything and finally at the end of their life, are walking away.. maybe the key to waking up is that a person has to have a deep sense of right and wrong.

It is a difficult decision if we have the opportunity to wake up an older person. Will it be of benefit to them

Bummer if I woke up a 94 year old on Monday and he died on Tuesday.

I personally don't try to wake up jws just for the sake of waking them up. I have to see with my own eyes, that particular person "Wanting to wake up," Then I will try to help them.

You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it."

Do they really have the ability to formulate any hypothesis on any subject-----or is it possible that when the Governing Body's meets to discuss what's the next article that should be publish in their magazines, ---they just throw darts at Target comic books that will explain -----Whatever subject they intend to explain.

For the past several years, they have been "Hush" on trying to explain anything dealing with science.They are not about to touch anything--past or present, that deals with science or history. Quick internet search on basic scientific facts has debunked all their past articles.

On top of that, I don't think the members will read anything that has words like; complex hydrophobic and hydrophilic regions of the molecule

When you examine page 4, for example, you will see item eleven where the reference is made to the contingency plan in the event Watchtower New York were "not in existence".

That's actually just language that is found in just about every legal document like a "Will"

For example, if a Will designates that certain assets should go to John Doe----"But" -- If John Doe "Is Decease" (or another way of saying, "Not In Existence" ----Then assets should go to Jennifer Doe.

As I mention before, The Watchtower just Can't go out of business.

If a charitable nonprofit winds down operations, the board of directors must distribute all of the nonprofit’s assets to another 501(c)(3) after all debts have been settled.

I doubt very much that the WT is ready to distribute all of its Billions in assets to another non-profit organization. They will always adapt and restructure TO STAY IN BUSINESS. None of the GB can run away with the monies. There are strict laws in the United States that govern non profit organization. (They are just Restructuring as they have always done since the beginning. This might include selling tons of KHs)

A Salute to Petra/Atlantis

whilst i have never quite understood whether petra and atlantis are one or multiple entities i recognise the value of their work and web of contacts.

i think it is fair to say that no-one has consistently contributed more solid gold intelligence to this site.

no one has reliably passed on more bomb shells and solid news as well as day to day minutiae.

....kinda sounds like they could morph into another version of themselves, in order to donate to themselves, and so on ad infinitum!!

Yes not the best of news, but they have actually been morphing from one version to another since Charles T. Russell started the whole thing. From bible Students, to Jehovah's Witnesses, to Christian Congregation, and so on. They are just following the lead of the Catholic Church who went from masters of inquisitions to love baby Jesus.

The WT will be around for while. Two billion plus in assets and a continual flow of donations can accommodate Governing body and helpers (lawyers) to navigate the waters of law and politics for quite a long time----more than likely into the next century.

They can eventually get rid of those that are draining the assets, like circuit overseers, full time worker at their headquarters,missionaries, and so on. Just kick them out and tell them-----Jehovah will take care of you.

But eventually they will morph into something else under a different name other than Watchtower. If it was me running the company, I would eventually get rid of the Name Watchtower legally. I would distance the New Restructured company from all negative failed prophesies, scandals, and crazy doctrines, and start over.

I would just wait for the right Time, the right Moment, and evaluate present culture to come up with another religious idea to lure the gullible into the New Organization of the ''True God" and start collecting monies again.

Why do you think the Catholic Church has made it for hundreds and hundreds of years even though history paints it as deplorable, murderous, and so much child sexual abuse that they make cartoons to depict how bad the child abuse actually is.-------IT'S THE MONIES THAT GIVES THEM POWER. THAT'S THE KEY.

Tsunamis and Volcanos: why?

how do believers explain these away?

jehovah's witnesses say that humans die and suffer due to the original sin, but what do volcano's and tsunamis have to do with it?

in this country we sometimes get rough seas and warning are put out not to go near the sea. So what happens? Yes you still find an audience and often someone has gone surfing too.

I remember seeing the movie War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise. The scene when the aliens were coming out of the ground. The street was breaking up into a big hole and what do the people do-----They gather around the HOLE.

Mike and Kim decided to make a video in which they launched very speculative and baseless theories about a number of things- including floating the idea that Watchtower New York could be preparing to go out of business.

Mike and Kim don't seem to know how non-profit religious corporations work in the United States. The Watchtower just Can't go out of business. A few hours or research can show how it works.

Not just Jehovah's Witnesses but most Christians are under the assumption that the World was made for us. But all evidence in the past and today shows that the world was made for those that adapt to the conditions of this planet. Literally millions animals and beings related to Homo Sapiens have become extinct. They were not able to adapt. We as Homo Sapiens were fortunate to be able to adapt. Volcanos and Tsunamis are just part of the inherent way that our planet is. The earth was never intended to be a paradise for people to live forever

Do you think “Eventually” the Whole World will become Socialist?

when i say; “socialist” i don’t mean everyone is equal.

instead i am referring to “leaders” being rich and powerful, whereas the ordinary citizen being poor, and powerless.. i was surprise that the majority of the world is run by socialist government.

the last few countries that are not socialist are the united states and parts of europe.

socialism is an arbitrary word. The US and many countries are capitalist with a social safety net.

I agree, like USA has Social Security and Medicare as a safety net. But the definition is being redefined by Democrat progressives like AOC and the young people coming out of College. Socialist as they define it is Government takes over "EVERYTHING" not just S.S. and other safety nets. It's a sly way of a few in power take command over everything----What kind of jobs you can do, no individual patents, all new inventions belong to the government, what food is produce, all property is own by the government, what health care you need decided by government, and etc.

Communism and socialism are tried again and again and failed again and again.

I agree, but it doesn't stop idiots from trying it again with a few tweaks here and there, which is what is happening now.

Somehow, people like this got into a position of power.

The same would be misleading about self-proclaimed democratic states like "Democratic Republik of Korea" and "German Democratic Republic".
There are many dictorship that call themselves "democratic" or "socialist" because it sounds good. Do not look at lables but at actions.

That's a good point and so very true. PROCLAIMED Democratic states is not the same as REAL Democratic states.
