Most of the sermon on the mount, Matthew 5-7 - is bizarre, vague or barbaric. It actually smacks stupidity and not wisdom.
if you lust after a woman, you’ve committed adultery (thought crime)
if you get angry at someone, you’ll be judged - more (thought crime.)
See movie Minority Report to understand why this is not good.every letter of the horrific OT law stands and must be upheld
do not prepare for tomorrow - horrible advice, especially if you are a bethelite.
Calling someone a “fool" will bring you in danger of everlasting fire. Worse than shunning.
settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court (this could be bad advice - better to call a lawyer for legal counsel.
Don’t swear an oath (our entire judicial system is dependent on the idea of oaths)
love your enemies - (how does this translate in practice when dealing with sociopaths, dictators, or tyrants?)
love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you;----Really!
What if your enemies did this to your wife and children? Should you still love them?
