We won't know till 20 years down the line when these 20 year old kids start getting heart disease in their 40s. By then, a generation of people will be gone and so will Dr. Fauci so no one to punish.

So telling that there are no little children

watching in on my wife's zoom meeting last night, there was an item about discipline is love.

they played a 'caleb' animated cartoon and then the instructions were 'if possible, ask selected young children' several questions.. it seems however, that there are no children in my wife's current congregation so the questions were all answered by retired brothers and sisters.

the congregation mainly consists of elderly people (like us) and the few of childbearing age seem not interested in having children.

When my wife and I had our family, the congregation was over run with kids, all of whom shot their hands up to answer questions with one word answers such as 'Jehovah', 'Jesus', 'Adam', etc.

It's a completely different story today. When I left 12 years ago, so did the majority of those my age. It's been happening since the internet took full command of the public's eyes and ears.

I seriously doubt the Religion has much more time left. Maybe another 10 years at the most before it goes small Pentecostal type with a small video presence.

just a thought.... looking through the greatest man book, something just occurred to me which i can't recall has ever been highlighted (but please correct me).. i always thought it a bit strange that jehovah allowed the three pagan astrologers to find jesus especially as they were obviously guided to him by satan's star (remember they were led to herod first who wanted to kill the messiah).

what purpose did it serve?.

well, a few pages earlier in tgm book, we see mary presenting a dove as a sin offering at the temple - this was the cheapest offering that was acceptable which must have meant that they were pretty poor at the time.. shortly after the three wise men visited the family had to flee to egypt when herod started to kill all the young boys in an attempt to kill jesus.. what would they need to travel and live as exiles for a couple of years?.

Now correct me if I'm wrong. Simon---were you actually defending the WT's teaching? ---OR-were you just Joking? I'm not sure.

Mostly everyone's comments seem to be positive for the idea that Jehovah uses those that oppose the TRUTH!

This is mind blowing. Did this site start off as a encouragement of sorts to WT teaching? Then as time went on did it turned into the dark side

Sometimes, Jehovah can use those who oppose the truth to further it's cause!

You got a totally wrong impression. I certainly did NOT mean that people should have children for the purpose of taking care of them in their old age! 🙄 I hope nobody else got this wrong impression. I’m sorry you didn’t comprehend the point I was trying to make.

LHG I didn't get that impression!-----I don't think anyone else did either!

It just might be a matter of Poe's law where it may seem the author meant this or that.

I think that not shunning children for the selfish reason that you might need their help when you get old isn't valid .

You choose to have children , they don't choose to be born or to have you as parents . What emotional damage does it do to those children to have their parents turn their backs on them ?

I always wanted to say this, but just didn't know how to express it.

Yes I agree, that Good parents that love their children NEVER EXPECT THE CHILDREN to CARE FOR THEM WHEN THEY GET OLD.

Couples that want Children should have them BECAUSE, they want to share the love they have for each other by raising their own flesh and blood. And hope their children grow up to enjoy the life they've been given.
