Other than donations how do they pay their staff? Do they advertise or have any other revenue? This has also prompted me to donate. Thanks Ray.

articles on jehovah's witnesses and the watchtower corporations, as well as cognitive dissonance, et al.
have made it a great place to help those that want to free their minds, which includes me lol!.

When You Were Sitting During The Meetings What Were You Really Thinkng About?
by minimus ini used to listen to all the stupid comments and wonder if i could sneak out of there and scram!
even after i resigned as an elder, i went for a while and eventually began missing more and more meetings.
but while i was there, i'd listen to comments, chuckle to myself how dumb it all was and then go home with the knowledge that my days were numbered there..

Anyone Gluten Intolerant?
by jemba ini recently found myself on a gluten free diet and have never felt better, finally my health problems are solved, pity all those prayers to jeehooha didnt help me when i needed it.. now i am finding myself occasionally accidently 'glutened' and remember how crap i felt before.
just another wonderful discovery ive made since getting out of the borg.. how have you found being on a gluten free diet and being gluten intolerant?.

WMF yeah gluttony is bad, looks like youre on the wrong post dude. lol
Its amazing that leaving out this common yet potentially toxic product has such wonderful results for so many people.
If I was still in the mind fog depression from being in the org I never would have made this discovery.
Apparently 40% of people have some sensitivity to gluten.

i re-read it after someone posted to it and brought it back on active topics and it was kind of prophetic in a way ... well, i had the 5 years part right if nothing else:.
it would be nice to visit the site (or whatever one is around then) in 5 years time to let people know how we're doing and find only a few of the same people still around.

Where does all the JW money go?
by LouBelle ini want to know.. does every kingdom hall, bethel and assembly hall belong to the watchtower, bible & tract society?.
each of those kingdom halls, bethels etc are built with the money obtained by that country's contributions.
if a loan is needed the bothers of that specific congregation pay off the loan.. the society has then an extremely huge amount of property worth billions of $$$$ who has control of all those funds?

Eventually I really hope that the world starts getting sick of all the billions of dollars that religions have stashed away in properties and shares and starts tapping them for taxes and also expects complete transparency, at the very least the JWs should expect to know what is happening with their donations. Maybe they would stop giving so much if they knew where it was really going. I'd love to see a huge money scandal with the society, showing them up as scammers or doing something illegal. That might get a few more people waking up.
