I am generally not pessimistic about the future but I wonder in light of the tendency towards fascism an policebrutality if a new holocaust is under the way against those not vacc'ed.

Anna Marina,
Like "all things", there is a context to "the beginning" of Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1. It is the beginning of the story of Israel, God's dealings with mankind.
Where do we get our information from. It is simple. As I said, the mere fact that the creation of angels are not mentioned should be a wake up call to the modern "Evangelical" tale. Secondly, the Hebrew text itself speaks of chaos "Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep". It also speaks of rudely unscientific stuff like a sea up in the heavens.
Hugh Ross places Adam's creation between 55,000 and 230,000 years ago, it seems reasonable and probably the most scientific bet out there but it is based on the premise that Genesis 1 is history in the modern sense. I dont think it is.

There is an so called old earth creationist called Hugh Ross who apparently rejects evolution. He says
"The most likely biblical date for the creation of Adam and Eve, therefore, would lie between 55,000 and 120,000 years ago. However, the date could be stretched as far back as 230,000 years ago".

Do any of you ex JW`s ever feel ashamed or embarrassed to admit you were once a JW? To your now friends / associates ?
by smiddy3 ini ask this now because i have been living in this town for the past 14 years and the circle of friends i have now i have never let on i am an ex jw.. i`m talking about 30-50 people at least.. not that the subject has ever really come up , but i think they would be shocked / amazed that i was a ( i hate this word ) a "devout" jw for 32 years going around knocking on peoples doors trying to convert them to the religion .. yet every now and again i get tempted to.. how say you ?.

Im not ashamed to admit either. Although we left when I was teen, it definetly had a unfurtunate impact on us as a family and as kids. Funny thing is that as I grow older people stop asking if I am still in. Maybe it my beard and holes in the jeans

Anna Marina,
Yes. It is interesting that the creation record does not mention angels. Also there seems to be some aftermath upon chaosbattle going on. There was creation before. Genesis 1 concerns with what the ancestors of ancient Israel could see with their eyes.

I saw a meme about all the historical white people that got blackwashed, even a German Hitler era general. I laughed hysterically. Considerably more funny that the sad statistics about black on white crime in the US.

Anna Marina,
Genesis 1-11 are divine myths. Tales that reveals truth without being historical. Adam and Eve represents us all. So you got anything else to offer?

The "Trinity" is not Biblical.
by Revealed insimple.. you cannot find the word there (or many of the comical variations such as: a triune godhead, the triunity, co-equal god beings, godhead, a hypostaic union, divine essences, divine natures, a god-the-son, a god-the-ghost, hypostasis, homoousios, perichoresis , a godman, omnipresence, incarnation, a god who is a sacred mystery, a god 'in three persons', dual natures, a reincarnate god, a first person of the trinity, a second person of the trinity, a third person of the trinity, godness, a tri-unity or a multipersonal god), or any of the so-mentioned aspects.. jehovah identified himself (not 'themselves") as on one god, as did jesus and all the prophets.

so, come, let us know of the simple twists of the clergy!.
