That the real JW faith is in the organisation rather than God and Christ. Still ex JWs say say stuff like I used to believe in God. Nay you used to believe in the org. That is sadly often the fact.

pistolpete,
You are assuming they play nice. I am sure they have better weapons than you and will pull the needed dirty tricks to win. What would you do against drones programmed to hit you? It was different in the days of the constitution when it was riffle men versus riffle men and all of the sudden there was a enough dissidents and not enough redcoats. You had not defeated the Brits today IF the Brits played dirty enough whiping out your kids etc.

Pistolpete,
You Americans have a great gift in the easy access to effective weapons. But if the US warmachine with its drones, bioweapons and everything else is unleashed against the American dissidents, how far will semi-automatics get you?

God`s Creation ,if He/She had a hand in it at all ,then why ?
by smiddy3 inevery living life form on this planet survives by killing ,eating every other living life form that exists on this planet.. one life form preys on another life form for it`s survival from the most primitive to the most highest complexity.. and i mean "every" living life form from the lowest to the highest that exists in the world.. this is just the natural order of things that has been going on since man has observed his surroundings.. their is no room for a god of love in the real world.
no wonder "they" came up with the phrase "survival of the fittest ".
"every living life form on this planet survives by killing ,eating every other living life form that exists on this planet".. this cannot be denied ,it`s a universal truth.

Life is tough and this planet a testing ground for us humans. God's love is tough. It is believable because it matches reality and does not sound like a salesman's tale. Man or rather a substantial amount of men are bastards, and if you want examples of Godless murderers just point to Mao, Stalin and the guy that probably murdered least people of the three - ol uncle AH. I read at least one correct statement by Rutherford, men are not all equally bad or something to the like.

Anna Marina or "Mary the Contrary",
Re Calvin why make something up when his commentary is avaible online, re Genesis 1:6; "Moses describes the special use of this expanse, to divide the waters from the waters from which word arises a great difficulty. For it appears opposed to common sense, and quite incredible, that there should be waters above the heaven. Hence some resort to allegory, and philosophize concerning angels; but quite beside the purpose. For, to my mind, this is a certain principle, that nothing is here treated of but the visible form of the world. He who would learn astronomy, (60) and other recondite arts, let him go elsewhere. Here the Spirit of God would teach all men without exception; and therefore what Gregory declares falsely and in vain respecting statues and pictures is truly applicable to the history of the creation, namely, that it is the book of the unlearned. (61) The things, therefore, which he relates, serve as the garniture of that theater which he places before our eyes. Whence I conclude, that the waters here meant are such as the rude and unlearned may perceive." End quote. To the ancient idiots, how could it rain if there was no water above, very simple?

Good short study on chaoskampf
"In verse 2, the description of the earth as IPDI ΙΠΓ) and the reference to DÎnn recall the idea of creation as the transformation of primordial chaos found in other Ancient Near Eastern creation myths, and elsewhere in the Old Testament. This emphasises the possibility of the return of chaos, God's ongoing power to bring order and renewal to the lives of his people, and the promise of his final eschatological victory over all that opposes him."

Anna Marina, I think you misread what I say, maybe in eagerness to tell me I am wrong when I am so obviously right. God created out of chaos and so of course the Bible story is that chaos is no more when God creates. But the sea is not a creation of Genesis 1.
I think a basic problem is that religious people want to make such an naive and rather childish account complicated. As Calvin rightly said, it is the account of the unlearned. Dont make it learned.

Anna Marina,
It is all chaos when God creates. The sea remains chaos. It is where the chaos serpent Leviathan lives Job 41, Isaiah 27:1.

Anna Marina,
"Hugh Ross places Adam's creation between 55,000 and 230,000 years ago, it seems reasonable and probably the most scientific bet out there but it is based on the premise that Genesis 1 is history in the modern sense. I dont think it is."
I think chaosbattle. I also notice the - if taken literally - ridiculous decree that green plants will serve as food to all animals on land and in the air BUT NOT sea. Sea was chaos to the ancient Israel. God creates out of chaos. It is not difficult.
