it's a nice sunny, clear day, and they are saying it isn't a major eruption.

wind is going to the south so we won't get any ash.

There is a lava bowl. I don't know if you saw St Helens' but there definitely IS one.

Where does he live CeriseRose? My mother-in-law lives in Castle Rock, we are down there fairly regularly so the kids can visit grandma.

my the week flew by.. i can barely believe that one minute i was boarding a boat on the way to meet the sassenachs, and the next i'm back home.

travel and work.

the journey down was uneventful, for a wednesday.

Fishing in the Northwest, Part II

my family and i have enjoyed a terrific summer of fishing.

the freezer is full of fish, the memories are fresh, and the pictures tell it all.

i hope you don't mind if i share... if you missed the first "fishing in the northwest" thread, you might like to begin there.

Is smelt any good though? They're awfully small, what's the point really?
I just love those pics of the kids with their fish. They picked at them a bit but in the end gave the trout to Steve and ate the dolly varden instead. They love the smoked fish with eggs for breakfast though.
I love smoked fish, I just can't handle it at 7 in the morning. It's bad enough I have to pack up hummus for Steve's lunch at 7am, add fish to that smell and it's a bit over the top.

My friend on the radio keeps saying Mt St Helens "tooted". Cracks me up.
I just came from Seattle. Bright clear sky, no sign of ash. I had no idea until I heard it on the radio. Last time, in 1980, I heard the blast clearly and it shook the front window on the house.
This is truly no big deal at this time.

Now now, lets get this straight. I was just jabbing Badger for leaving me off his list of hotties he had met. I met him in May and he has no excuse for the slight. I just said I never make any of the "who's your favorite" lists on this board.
There were lots of pics of me on the Dallas apostafest threads. You can see me kissing Elsewhere on his birthday thread. I just go unnoticed...

small earthquakes rattled mount st. helens at the rate of one or two a minute monday, and seismologists were working to determine the significance of some of the most intense seismic activity in nearly 20 years.

nervous scientists fear the slumbering giant, which hasn't had any kind of eruption in 18 years, may have awakened.

At this point they don't think it will do much. The earthquakes are steady but reading around 2 on the scale. The 1980 blow had steady quakes around 4.
I heard on the news that it isn't threatening any lives right now. My mother in law lives in the town at the base though.
It's on the news pretty regular but really isn't a big deal right now. I heard about a news conference yesterday at 2 but forgot to watch it.
