One of these days you will be kicking butt!
I placed 490 out of 3850 timed competitors in my first try. I DID kick butt.
a few weeks ago i posted about having some difficulty with my swim training for an upcoming triathlon.
well, i finally was able to overcome it and the swim clicked with me last week.
i was able to swim across the lake and back without panicking twice last week.

i thought the "fast forward" at the end was great
I'll have my people contact your people and they can make plans for jumping out of airplanes.

A few weeks ago I posted about having some difficulty with my swim training for an upcoming triathlon. Well, I finally was able to overcome it and the swim clicked with me last week. I was able to swim across the lake and back without panicking twice last week. The triathlon was yesterday.
I participated in the Danskin all women sprint triathlon in Seattle. It was a world record breaking event with 5,454 participants and the 100th Danskin triathlon. They started us in 36 waves of 150, each wave 4 minutes apart and grouped according to age. I was in wave 19, started 1 hour 10 minutes after the first group of elite athletes.
The swim was 1/2 mile and I came out of the water and crossed the mat at 17:20.
The bike was 12.4 miles and I crossed the finish mat at 38:20 with an average speed of 19.4 miles. It was a hilly course that took us across the I-90 floating bridge (express lanes) and there was a pretty good headwind on the way back.
The run was 3.1 miles that followed the shoreline of Lake Washington before turning up a steep hill and down to the finish line. I had a wicked side ache that wouldn't let up so my run time was 26:19.
Since the race was so huge, the transition/bike area was enormous and I was stuck in the back corner as far away from the swim finish and bike start as you could get. As a result, my transition times were long because most of the time was spent crossing from one end to the other and then back again.
My total time was 1:30:33 which put me at 406th overall. 90th out of 554 in my age group of 34-39 year olds. Not bad for a newbie.
i don't go to church, but right now they're playing god bless america and i can hear it and it's just cool.
i like seeing the parisioners walking in and out when i drive by and seeing them fire up the huge grill on saturdays for cookouts.
just something i wanted to share this morning.
It just sounded preachy. I guess for me it would be to live a fit healthy life then? I don't really want people to take one look at me and know my religious beliefs. It's none of their business and I hate the instant judgement. I do realize of course that I make that judgement as well. I wish it weren't that way. ~shrugs~

...everyone but Claire. She looked awesome, except when she died at 102. She looked bad then.
Yeah, that was kind of funny...and David was always a little too JW looking for a gay man. He might have had bad hair, but only after Keith died.
*hey, I'm not hi-jacking or anything but is J still planning on a sky dive?*

Hey V! ~waves~
I loved it right up to the part where Claire drove off. I thought the fast forward was stupid. David would never look so bad! He's gay for god's sake. Gay men have good hair.
Awesome series though. Satisfying ending for sure.

the jws used to always have discussions about whether to have children "in this system of things".. i used to always think it was pathetic to avoid having kids because of the so-called impending armageddon.. however.
despite the fact that i've always wanted kids, right now i'm not so sure.
just look at the things happening in the world.
Only thing is my clock is ticking - I'm 29 and need to have kids in the next 5 years or so. Where the hell am I going to find 'the love of my life' settle down, get marriend & pregnant in such a short space of time.
You have plenty of time. I have lots of friends who have had children in their early forties. It may not be ideal but then again, it may be perfect. Your whole life can change in a matter of months. Relax.

I just got home from my seven year old daughter's dress rehearsal for a hula performance at a Lu'au on Saturday. It truly scares me how well she moves those little girl hips. Watching her perform is so amazing.
At the post office today my eight year old son started discussing whether the president should be allowed to run for a second term or if one should be long enough. Listening to his reasoning and how his magnificent mind works is so amazing.
Steve and I miss the selfish aspects of not having children. Sleeping in, going out without having to hire a babysitter, having to be home at a certain time, the spontaneity you enjoy as a childless couple, but we wouldn't trade it for anything.
Besides, we didn't want to be one of those weird couples who treats their animals like they are children and call themselves "mommy" and "daddy" to the dog.

You won't ever regret having kids. They are wonderful, beautiful, annoying and expensive, but incredible little people who never cease to amaze.
We didn't want kids when we first were married. After seven years we changed our minds and by eight years we had one, ten years and we had two.
We'd have more if they weren't so all consuming and expensive. We don't feel like we have the time and resources for more.
You're only (almost) 30, you have plenty of time.
