  Went to a Public Talk and WT Study, after about 5 yrs away.

  it was boring,,snooze city, there were room for a bout 200 and they didn't have more than 40 in attendance very few youths mostly older ones(30 and beyound).

  i didn't have a clue what the speaker was saying thank god i came a 1/2 late, those poor poor people that have to sit thru such mind numbing drival about how we are to treat people in the congregation and not to be jealous bla bla bla.

  the wt the reader was drone the conductor brain dead and every body answered the wt by practically reading their answer word for word from the wt,, it was pitiful,,pitiful.

  No one felt threatened. It was sexual harrassment and my husband had no problem telling him to knock it off.

  I agree with Inquisitor. I think it was inappropriate and he behaved badly on purpose showing a lack of respect for her marriage.

  Here's a question for you married ladies: Would you still be amused if a JW elder you didn't know, approached you when you are by yourself, asked you out to coffee to *talk to you about the Bible* when you sense he has more than just the Bible in mind?

  There was an elder in my old congo who constantly made inappropriate comments regarding my dress and figure. I was 25 and he was 60 something. It creeped me out and pissed me off that I had to spend two hours avoiding him three times a week. My husband told him to leave me alone and quit with the comments. He did.

  It's one thing to get a sincere compliment. Another entirely to be hit on by someone who is just playing his own stupid game.

  Lighten up. A little flirting probably made her feel better about herself.

  You flatter yourself. IMO what you did was disrespectful of the woman and her marriage. Obviously it made you feel better about yourself. Just my opinion...FWIW.

  Now the next step is you have to get UNDER the water.

  Nah, I'm much faster on top of the water. Besides, all the other triathletes would think it was weird if I swam UNDER them.

  I'm president of the PTA.

  Since I never was able to play sports in school as a dub, I'm totally loving the adult league volleyball team I play on now. Interestingly, made up of 75% ex-dubs.

  I was able to overcome my fear of open water swimming last year, and now am a fairly decent age group triathlete.

  Has anyone had Shingles???

  hello.... i was in the er last night because apparently i have shingles!!!!!!!!

  the doctor said it is caused by stress, which re-activates the chicken pox virus that lays dormant in your system.

  so i guess i need to learn some stress management skills.

  I had shingles when I was twelve. I'm wondering why I was so stressed at 12???

  I remember how excrutiating it was to have my mom dab on Calamine lotion with a cotton ball. I also remember just laying on the couch watching endless hours of TV because I just couldn't move.

  I still have a small area on my back that is numb from the nerve damage.

  Sorry I have no advice since it was 24 years ago. I do have endless sympathy, especially since you are pregnant! That sounds like it would exacerbate the pain with the skin stretching. I hope you get relief soon.

  raised in the truth, (or joined later), but here we are, finding ourselves in our thirties, forties, or fifties....and the end hasn't come.

  Thank you so much. I occasionally will meet people my age and wonder if I look as old as they do. My grandmother was 60 when I was born and was completely gray headed, and quite fat. When my mother was 60, she looked 40.

  These are the latest pictures I could find on my computer. I'm on the right in the pic with the three women. I'm older than both of them. I still get carded fairly regularly, but I think they are just being nice.

  Panhandlers piss me off!

  yesterday, my brother and his son were in town visiting.

  me and the wife decided to go out and get some pizza to bring back for supper.. when we pulled up to the pizza shop, a guy came up to the car window and gave us his sob story about how he had cancer removed, how he refused to stay in the homeless shelter, and presented a stack of papers stapled together along with his mb health card.

  he asked for any change that we may have.

  A friend and I were driving yesterday and every on/off ramp to the highway had a panhandler on it. I noticed one offramp had a 20 something woman with a nice tatt in the small of her back, dressed nicely, holding a sign. I wondered aloud at her really being destitute or just begging money for a new tatt. My friend said if she was openly panhandling for a new tatt, he'd probably give her money for it.

  You just can't tell if they are destitute or a career panhandler around here (Seattle area and north). When we drove back by the same place, a man listening to music through nice headphones, smoking a ciggie had taken her place.

  Tour de France winner bucked his religion

  landis' mennonite hometown celebrates'we are disappointed with the lifestyle he lives, but i love him,' one says.

  farmersville, pa. - as floyd landis crossed the tour de france finish line sunday, his devout mennonite parents were riding their own bicycles home from church.. paul and arlene landis were so confident their son would win the cyclings greatest race they didnt have to choose between going to church and watching it on tv at a neighbors house.. im glad we didnt have to make that choice.

  church is very important to us, arlene landis said.

  Aspergers syndrom

  does anyone here have any knowledge about how to get along with someone who has been diagnosed with the asperger syndrom?.

  My younger brother and his wife both have it. She seems to be more severe. They met in college, she has a genius IQ, he has never been IQ tested but is getting straight A's. Don't assume people with Aspergers are less intelligent. Often, just the opposite is true.

  With my brother and his wife, it's noticeable in their social behavior. I've wondered if my son might have a mild case, he seems to have some of the characteristics but is missing many of the more obvious, so I don't know. He too has a genius IQ. My oldest brother's son has been diagnosed as well, he has a learning disability along with Aspergers but is a very talented artist.

  Too bad my mom is out of town. She has researched Aspergers and knows loads about it. You might send Mulan a PM, she'll get back to you next week.
