The bridge burning has begun.
by sparrowdown ini was feeling particularly hopeless about the whole jws being assholes thing and sick to death of pretending so ....
i rang my sister and told her that i no longer believe jws have the truth and the phone went silent, when i asked her to say something she just said if that was the case then she would have to hang up on me and then proceeded to indeed hang up..
so i texted her back immediately with fu..

I wish you luck in whatever happens, you never know how your sister will react in the future, my family still talk to me and they know how I feel, I have just made sure I dropped all my JW acquaintances and the only JW's I spoke with was my direct family, I don't believe my family wants to shun me, I faded and didn't give the JW's a reason to DF me. -

NOW THAT I AM OUT.
by Guy Montag ini used to be jon preston.
now that i've escaped the watchtower i have much to report on.
in just a year i left the cult, started living, reset my kids' brains, had my spouse cheat, move to a new location, and started a new job.

You are going through what all off us have gone through in one way or another.
I left 25 years ago, my husband left me not long after we left "the troof" together, my teenage kids got into trouble with drugs etc, my JW parent were saying see this is what happens when you leave "the troof".
25 years years later I look back on my life and I wouldn't change a thing. The reason why is every decision that I made after leaving the cult, was made with an open mind, living life to the full no matter what has happened. I live with passion and give life a 100% with no regrets.
That beats sitting in mind numbing meeting, trying to cope with boredom and trying to come up with reasons I couldn't got "door to door" and feeling guilty every day because I couldn't keep up with the drudgery.
My children and now in their 30's and are very balanced, caring, responsible and independent adults.
I married a man who is not religious and who is very passionate about life, I do not get sick anymore, still work 6 days and week, I get up every morning enjoying every day for what is has to offer.
I still don't have all the answers, but we have our conscience that tell us what is right and wrong, if we following our gut we will always be on the right track.

Exposing one's identity. When?
by kairos ini've been toying with the idea of just coming out and posting my name and location as an attempt to be available to locals that secretly browse the forum that have known me for up to 25 years.
( "reaching out", so to speak ).
i'm not da'd or df'd, so this most certainly could end in a dramatic confrontation.

If in the end you have to meet with them, take a video of the highlights of Geoffrey Jacksons testimony under oath at the Royal Commission.
1 He said it was presumptuous to think the GB were the only spoke person for Jehovah.
2 This is not a captive religion, member are allowed to become inactive.
Straight from their master's mouth, it is now on video. It is refutable.

I just looked on jw-archive, I couldn't believe the comments, we are "Tame" and very "Civilised" compared to the people who are part of that organisationI just had to copy part of the comments, I couldn't help my self:I went door-to-door passing out a special tract that said the end of false religion was near. It specifically called out the Catholics because of the sex abuse within the ranks.Lett called accusations that JW's have a problem with this too, "apostate lies". Morriss said the GB was proud of their policies. I welcome the opportunity for Geoffrey Jackson to take the stand before "Ceasar" to set the matter straight.
If there is nothing to hide this should be live broadcast on JW TV for all the organization to see his defense of the truth.Like · Reply ·11 · Aug 11, 2015 9:00am
Rochelle Hurwitz Sevier ·If you check out the transcripts from the Royal Commission, you will see that the elders and branch members brought reproach upon Jehovah by committing perjury and appearing as indifferent to the victims of the abuse. On Day 7 Brother O'Brien from the branch is caught lying about Brother Jacksons role in the organization.OMG -

Do video games cause bad behaviour in children?
by The Rebel inmy boy is 10 and has got very interested in pocamon cards.
( a game way to complicated for me to understand) but i've also noticed it's linked to a computer game, which seems harmless enough but i also noticed advertisements for more violent games appear.. i would value people's opinion on whether, you think video games cause bad behaviour in kids.
i should mention my kid says i limit his time on these games, much more than other children's parents, and i was thinking of reevaluating that rule.. thanks.. the rebel..

We should send them the video's of the interviews at the last round of assemblies. Where the parents are giving their own experience of shunning their own children -

My Stepson has been playing Pokemon since he was about 15, he is now 25 year old and still plays it, he is obsessed by it, he even plays tournament that last all night.
He has grown to be a kind, very caring and very well adjusted adult.
If you are worried about bringing your child up to be well adjusted you just have to remember guidelines we all already know, e.g. our time, love, direction, society, friendship, family, education, self discipline, being a role model etc.
Then anything our children are faced with, they will be able to handle, because you are there with them.
