No the elders and congregation we went to inluding relatives just think we've gotten cold spiritually. They believe we are too tired and working too hard. This is what WE have said. We have only told one JW, my aunt, and she hasn't said anything, I suspect. Our stance on the information in COC and simply not believeing anymore AND the CHild Abuse issue have NOT been disclosed YET.

Okay . . .I just got off the phone with the show's producer and the show is NOT Oprah. It is a new show called The Dr. Phil show on NBC. The weird thing is I emailed on the Oprah website. They want to do a show on exiting high control religions and cults. She said that they are putting that show together for a few months from now.
I was all geared-up to meet Oprah. What do you guys think?

They forced my husband to turn in a letter of resignation as an elder. He no longer wanted to be one. So, he was told to put it in writing after weeks of debating why he didn't want to be. And, after weeks of them trying to force him to stay. And, after weeks of elders, co and do meetings.

I am scared beyond belief, your comments are really calming me, thank you! I called him after I posted, he's great but he's really confused right now. He talked yesterday about DA himself. He just stepped down as an elder so he's still a little weary. He told me NOT to agree to anything yet. I want him to read all your posts.
In answer to someone's question, YES we are being shunned by family members for not living up to the potential of a TRUE JW. We went to the meeting about a month ago, the C.O. and D.O. came and my husband was required to turn in a letter of resignation, in person. We all went after not going for about a montha and a half. Everyone looked at us as if we were lepors. They didn't know if they should talk to us or not, like we might be reprimanded, you know? They were even indifferent to my little daughters. NOW that hurts!!! Yes we are being shunned and at this point we are only inactive, and my husband stepped down. Can you imagine when we DA or if we DF?

I am really down on the dumps regarding being shunned and torn apart about DA (I haven't yet). A week ago I wrote to Dr. Phil on OPRAH and wrote briefly about JW practices on shunning. I got a call right now on my VM they want me on the show.
What should I do? I NEVER thought this would interest them at all. I was kind of just venting when I wrote the letter. HELP!! I need advice. Should I go through with it?

1st we've been having GREAT sex with all th no no's throughout the time he's been a MS and an Elder. (I mean great)!!!!
He just stepped down as an elder. He doesn't believe anymore, he's an Atheist in the "closet." But he still wants contact with family. So what can I do? Maybe i should stop giving good sex . . .that's a thought. But, then I'd suffer too. I don't think so.

however, 25 years of brainwashing goes a long way.
(for arguments sake) if religion collapsed today, would you feel you made a mistake in leaving the wbts?

I guess I will stick to my guns and belief to be a non-believer. Let's make a pact . . . if that happens I'll throw the hugest party ever so you guys can keep me from seeking the JWs. Restraints are acceptable. lol
