The most sick statement put in JW print
by Chook inwt 1973 p568.
"did you know, for example, that mothers and fathers that stroke the genitals of their fretful babies to keep them quiet are unwittingly encouraging them to become maturbators later on?".

Circuit ASSembly low-lites
by FedUpJW inso in an effort to relieve some pressure here are what i term the low-lites of yesterday's assembly that i had to endure for the sake of family still in and my progressing fade.
apologies in advance for being pretty long winded.. these may not all be the actual words used, but the ones i use are close, and they pretty well say what was said from the platform.. right off the bat in the opening prayer the praises of the governing body were spoken.
thanking the g.b.

Don't you just love it when the CO sneaks an important tidbit into the afternoon session when he knows no one is going to catch it? He brilliantly snuck in the hint that soon KHs are going to be sold out from under the R&F between idiotic comments on shunning and how good the little drones were being. He knew damn well at that point in the day people are too tired/bored/hungry/desperate to leave that they aren't paying attention.
Well, dubs, that was a hint as to your future. Your halls sold and you forced to waste to YOUR time and gas money (oh wait! You don't have gas money cause you don't have a job!) driving long distances to share a hall. All so the GB can have Apple watches and fly in business class. On the up side, you will now have more travel time to sit and wonder why the hell you're doing this. With any luck, you'll wake up.

After 52 years a Watchtower slave 9/11 gave me the push I needed to get out.
by new boy ini turned in my letter of disassociation on september 18, 2001 but it was 9/11 that showed me what the witnesses really feel about human lives and the future wished for.. i was in limbo after my wife of 27 years left me on july 30, 2001. she knew i wasn't buying the jw program anymore.
she told me she come back to me when "i got my head straighten out about god and the church".. so for 40 days i was in limbo.
i stopped going to meetings.

What's ironic to me is that my mom is a fairly compassionate soul. It hurts her to see people suffering from natural disasters and war, terrorism and accidents. But she doesn't seem to grasp what she's really praying for when she prays for her Paradise. She's praying for something a billion times worse than 9/11 or Katrina. She's praying for billions of people to die including: her own mother and brother; her only niece; one of her daughters; that daughter's husband and stepson; numerous friends and neighbors.

I was at work that day, listening to it over the radio. I got home that evening to a call from my Jovamom begging me to come back to the KH because this was 'the beginning of the Great Tribulation'. I refused. What good would it have done? According to their doctrines, I'd have been doomed because Jah won't accept any new recruits or returning sheep after the Tribulation starts.

Handels 'Messiah'
by zeb ini had been watching handels "messiah' on computer.
i mentioned this to my wife (uber) and got a "oh oh!

No "Amazing Grace' or "O Holy Night'. I listened to them anyway.

New blood cards came to our hall today
by LevelThePlayingField inat the end of the meeting an elder, by way of announcements said there is a new blood document that he said would be passed out to every baptized member of the congregation by way of their service group overseer.
i knew this day was coming, just had no idea of when.
he said it was a simplified version and sure to make you sign up for suicide.

I like the UK's approach to the blood card. When I was in, it was an annual thing for everyone to be given their new cards and fill them out that night in full view of everyone. If you didn't, you'd have dozens of eyes watching and dozens of people asking why you didn't fill your card out. Definitely a coercive situation. I wonder how many people in similar circumstances signed when they really didn't want to. -

Is it REEEAALLLY a conscience matter when the GB goes to such lengths to tell the sheepies exactly how their consciences should decide?

I think we are being shunned
by Tallon ini have not read all the discussions about the recent regional convention where the org is now ramping up the diabolical act of shunning.
i am not sure as to which ‘category’ of persons it now applies.. my wife and i have faded over the past couple of years.
our book-study conductor used to drop by to give us the magazines.

It really depends on how fanatical the individual JWs are. Some will take the "shun inactive ones who are seriously sinning" to mean ALL inactives. Others will just ignore the whole "amp up your shunning" message completely.

Jehovah's Witnesses post 'anti-gay' 'Harness Your Habits' leaflet in North Devon
by OrphanCrow injehovah's witnesses post 'anti-gay' 'harness your habits' leaflet in north devon.
devon and cornwall police have said a leaflet posted through doors in north devon isn't a crime – despite it advising gay people to "control their urges".the leaflet, entitled "how to harness your habits", was distributed in north devon by jehovah's witnesses and contains an article asking "what does the bible say about homosexuality?
"in it, the religious group states that "rejecting homosexuality" is completely different to "rejecting people of a different skin colour" and says their views are the same as people who "view smoking as harmful and even repugnant".it also compares gay people to animals, but says "unlike animals, they can choose not to act on their impulses".the journal was contacted by a reader, who wishes to remain anonymous, who felt "belittled" by the leaflet.

Maybe it isn't criminal in the police sense, but this stunt WAS criminally stupid. Usually JWs dance around their hatred of gays by saying something misleading like "It's not for us to judge". Which is a crock that they spew just so they don't look like complete ***holes to potential new recruits.
I totally agree with Under the Radar that if we apostates blanketed an area with anti-JW leaflets they'd instantly scream bloody murder. No, just doing unto YOU as you did unto others.

Can’t cope with being disfellowshipped…..Need some advice
by xxBettyBoopxx inthis site is great, i have been lurking for a while now.
but i can’t get reinstated and have used some of the advice already given.. i was df’d many months ago and go to all the meetings and do all the preparation for the meetings, but the jc committee keep refusing me.
tomorrow at the clam meeting i am puting yet another letter in and will be called for another dreadful jc meeting.. 1. what can i say to the elders to show that i am truly repentant?.
-

If you're really serious about doing this (I'd advise against it, but I don't know your reasons or your circumstances):
If they don't believe you're 'truly' repentant, they won't reinstate you. It's that simple. It all boils down to their perceptions of you and whether or not any of those elders have an ax to grind with you. Put on a sad face, eyes downcast, maybe squeeze out a tear or two. Agree with whatever the elders say. Holy Spirit has nothing to do with the process.
As far as I know, there's no mandatory minimum time you have to serve as DF'd before you can be reinstated. I've heard of some being reinstated after only a few months while others have waited two or three years for reinstatement. Elders have pretty wide leeway in whatever decisions they make and you have no right to question them.
